Our platform and PLM applications connect users in all disciplines to critical product data and processes across the lifecycle and throughout the extended supply chain. We collaborate with companies in some of the most innovative industries, including automotive, industrial/heavy equipment, aerospace and defense, and high-tech electronics.

Aras is seeking a Cloud Operations Manager to help lead our Global Cloud Services (GCS) team responsible for end-to-end operations and administration of the Aras cloud platform. Key working domains are solution availability, performance, change management, incident response, and security compliance. Aras makes heavy use of containers and builds on the Microsoft Azure platform for cloud services. This role blends people leadership, service ownership, and operational excellence (SRE/ITIL) to deliver a reliable, secure, and customer-centric SaaS experience.

In this role, you’ll be reporting to the Sr Director of Cloud Operations as part of the leadership team responsible for the overall performance and 24/7 support of the Aras cloud platform. You’ll work with engineering and DevOps teams to plan and complete service requests across the full portfolio of Aras cloud services. Your teams are also responsible for monitoring and alert response.

This role requires someone with deep technical expertise in cloud technologies and significant experience organizing a global set of teams for coordinated service delivery. Aras GCS emphasizes scaling and efficiency through automation and a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface between GCS cloud engineers and the broader Aras organization, ensuring alignment on priorities and execution; support strategic Aras initiatives and execution to the shared roadmap.
  • Help mature the Aras GCS support model for cloud service domains such as backups, observability, performance, scalability, security, and supportability.
  • Provide oversight and coordination across the globally-distributed cloud teams that respond to customer requests, monitor technical infrastructure, and develop or adapt the supporting automation or SOPs
  • Leverage experience with Azure/AWS/GCP to help guide architectural decisions and deployment strategies.
  • Work with Aras customer management to represent Aras cloud services, as required, on complex SaaS or escalated support topics. This may include an occasional customer-facing engagement.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud operations management or technical service delivery, in support of SaaS using one or more major cloud provider (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • 10+ years of experience working with large, enterprise software implementations (distributed systems) in the context of a vendor or service provider that is managed and measured by strict SLAs.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud scaling patterns and models for multi-tenancy, and related technical support
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes) and DevOps practices (automation).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in cross-functional and customer-facing contexts.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
