The Core Platform team is building the industry leading next generation AI-powered cloud platforms, services and tools that underpin our products. We build and maintain systems at scale and ensure that Yahoo is always able to serve its hundreds of millions of users and billions of daily pageviews. Using a combination of open source software and internal tools across multiple cloud providers, we engineer automated solutions for base docker containers, Ingress routing, Identity management, service mesh, configuration templates, orchestration, monitoring and for deployment of containerized applications at scale. We promote and enable developer self-sufficiency and DevOps ownership models.

You are smart, self-driven, and spend time trying to figure out how something works, not stopping with just knowing that it does. You like to relentlessly automate everything and anything at scale.
You Will
Develop and enhance Terraform modules to standardize cloud features in the Yahoo environment
Configure and automate Helm deployments for services hosted in Kubernetes
Design and deploy AI-driven troubleshooting systems and cost optimization features across all managed Kubernetes clusters.
Create intelligent onboarding agents that guide developers to configure and deploy applications seamlessly on cloud
Automate setup, security, and scaling best practices through AI-driven workflows
Diagnose, resolve and prevent issues from happening in production application infrastructure, using your critical knowledge of Kubernetes, UNIX tools, and cloud technologies
Implement, and maintain monitoring to provide complete transparency to application and system state, history, and trends
Write clear and concise engineering documentation for internal users
Qualifications
3+ years with BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience working with AWS or GCP public cloud
Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals including automation workflows, application deployments, monitoring, networking, and identity/access management
Strong proficiency with Kubernetes (cluster management, operators, CRDs, Helm, GitOps)
Knowledge of observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) for collecting data to feed AI models
Expertise in any one of the scripting languages
Skilled in identifying performance bottlenecks, identifying anomalous system behavior, and determining the root cause of incidents in cloud
Knowledge of Service mesh technologies such as Istio is preferred
Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing and CDNs preferred
Experience working with Terraform is preferred
Programming experience in Go is preferred

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
