Program and Role Summary:

The primary focus of the Clinical Support Specialist is to ensure the safety of and engage students in the Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs. This role involves interacting with students in the milieu, co-leading groups, and assessing for safety. The position provides support and assistance to the Clinical Team of therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrist.

The hourly wage range for this role is $23.00 - $25.00. 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Assist the clinical staff in supporting clients in treatment groups and activities.
  • Supervises the students and ensures that they are being safe to themselves and to those around them.
  • Helps clinical staff enforce Group Rules and Norms.
  • Co-lead behavioral activation and independent living skills groups.
  • Rewards and praises students for positive behavior.
  • Assists students in processing through the students’ various issues and concerns.
  • Develops a healthy and meaningful staff/student relationship with each student.
  • Advises students regarding problem solving and offers healthy coping strategies for dealing with the students’ emotions.
  • Observes and charts student behavior, affect, and participation.
  • Monitors the environment surrounding the clients at all times for safety and is aware of emergency procedures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, cognitive science, or related field from an accredited university
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Experience working in a behavioral or mental health setting on a team
  • Experience with electronic medical/health records systems preferred
