About Sprinter Health

Sprinter Health is an innovative healthcare startup dedicated to providing high-quality, in-home and virtual care across the country. We employ a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, technologists, and operators and are backed by investors including a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel. We have a rapidly growing team of visionary leaders who are passionate about increasing access to care, lowering healthcare costs, and improving outcomes for patients.

Position Overview

The Clinical Pharmacy Manager is a working clinical director responsible for both delivering hands-on pharmacy services and building out Sprinter Health’s pharmacy program from the ground up. This role sits at the center of Sprinter Health’s care delivery clinical product suite — designing the pharmacy service strategy, driving billable clinical pharmacy services, and collaborating across clinical and operational teams to scale the function. As the pharmacy program grows, this role will take on direct oversight of additional pharmacy team members.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Strategy

  • Define and build Sprinter Health’s clinical pharmacy program, including scope of service, care delivery model, and operational infrastructure.

  • Make recommendations on pharmacy scope-of-service opportunities for consideration by the PC Medical Director, VP of Clinical Strategy, and CMO.

  • Develop and scale a virtual pharmacy team to support growing clinical needs, including hiring, onboarding, and oversight of future pharmacy staff.

  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to shape pharmacy-related features and workflows within Sprinter Health’s care delivery platform.

  • Support customer-identified pharmacy program needs and represent pharmacy with a clinically informed perspective in cross-functional discussions.

Direct Patient Care Services

  • Conduct virtual medication reconciliation and therapy reviews, as directed by Sprinter PC clinical leaders, flagging interactions, contraindications, and therapy gaps.

  • Advise patients on medication adherence, side effects, and safe use during or following in-home visits, supporting patient engagement and health literacy.

  • Provide prescriptive oversight recommendations for specific programs and service offerings where prescription may be warranted.

  • Monitor and respond to prescription questions and clinical escalations from licensed APPs, MDs, RNs and field Sprinters in a timely and evidence-based manner.

Care Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with virtual Nurse Practitioners and Nurses to develop and adjust care plans, with a focus on at-risk and chronic-condition populations served by Sprinter Health.

  • Collaborate with clinical PC leaders, VP of Clinical Strategy, and CMO on pharmacy scope-of-service opportunities and program development.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams — including Operations, Product, and Technology — to support programs requiring pharmacy input.

  • Support customer-identified pharmacy-related program needs with a pharmacy-informed clinical perspective.

Preventive Care & Quality

  • Contribute to closing care gaps by identifying medication-related barriers to preventive health goals, including support for HEDIS pharmacy measures and other quality initiatives.

  • Support clinical pharmacy gap measure offerings and contribute to the development of new and existing measures in collaboration with clinical leadership.

  • Partner with HEDIS and coding experts to inform and deliver pharmacy-related training to clinical staff.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all pharmaceutical activities align with state and federal regulations across the all states in which Sprinter Health operates, maintaining licensure and compliance standards.

  • Document all clinical interventions within the Elation/CMP platform to support Sprinter Health’s data products and health outcomes reporting.

  • Contribute recommendations on optimizing the EMR interface with pharmacy prescribing information to improve clinical workflows.

Qualifications

Required

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.

  • Active state pharmacist licensure; multi-state licensure strongly preferred given Sprinter Health’s multi-state footprint.

  • 5+ years of clinical pharmacy experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently and lead clinical initiatives and programs.

  • Experience building or significantly expanding a clinical pharmacy program, service line, or team.

  • Experience in telehealth, virtual care, or value-based care settings.

  • Strong knowledge of HEDIS pharmacy measures and medication therapy management.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, technology-driven startup environment where structure is still being built.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with physicians, APPs, nurses, and operational teams.

Preferred

  • Board certification (e.g., BCACP, BCPS, or equivalent).

  • Experience with Elation EMR or similar clinical platforms.

  • Background in care gap closure and preventive care pharmacy initiatives.

  • Experience in home health, mobile health, or similar non-traditional care settings.

  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage or Medicaid pharmacy programs.

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a pharmacy setting.

Location

This position is fully remote, with occasional travel to regional markets as needed. Multi-state licensure required to support Sprinter Health’s national footprint.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
