BlackRock manages its engagement with clients and colleagues across the firm through the Client Platform, which is our client book or record.   

 

The Global Client Platform team, part of Global Product Solutions (GPS), is dedicated to enhancing client interactions, improving sales management processes and providing actionable insights through technology solutions that help BlackRock better anticipate and engage clients' needs. The team has been leading the effort of introducing a new firmwide CRM, Content Management, and Client Data system to streamline sales management. The team more broadly leads the introduction of Management Report, AI tools, Content Management Systems to better equip our client-facing teams with data and insights, facilitate cross team collaboration so we deliver to client as 1BLK. 

 

Client Platform Reporting, Analytics & Data Science Lead ASO or VP 

 

BlackRock’s Client Businesses manage its engagement with clients and colleagues across the firm through a client platformGiven our growing business and rapidly evolving marketplace, it is important that the team be aware of both the world around them as well as ongoing evolution to our client platformThis role will leverage technology and data to develop reporting that delivers actionable insights to the Client Business and Product Strategy Teams.  The actionable insights will enable leadership to better manage their businesses as well as relationship managers know their clients better. It will directly shape how BlackRock sells to and services our clients and ultimately drives our business forward. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Delivery of insights from the Client Platform through PowerBI reporting including maintaining centralized reporting suite and building new report tooling 

  • Delivery of data science solutions including generation of insights leveraging sentiment analysis and trend capture, automation of workflows, and competitor landscaping 

  • Implement the strategic vision for reporting and analytics within the Client Platform team. Lead a team of analytics professionals to achieve this vision. 

  • Refine ambiguous business questions into key performance metrics through a deep understanding of the data, our clients, and our business. 

  • Understand the purpose of reporting to business stakeholders and provide thought leadership on improving our global reports as well as supporting bespoke business needs.  

  • Create high visibility dashboards, reports, and visualizations to ensure the timely delivery of valuable metrics and actionable insights. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across the client and product business to align reporting and analytics initiatives with overall business objectives. 

  • Act as a resource for citizen developers within the client business unit developing their own bespoke reporting 

  • Collaborate with other members of the data science and analytics community across the firm on best practices, code review, internal tools and process improvements. 

 

Skills/Qualifications 

 

  • The ability to effectively collaborate with and present to both technical and non-technical partners 

  • Understanding of decision science, with the ability to drive optimal choices based on available information while eliminating bias 

  • Experience PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, or similar for delivery and visualization of management information and reporting  

  • Excellent SQL and Python/R, data analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand statistical modeling techniques as well as machine learning 

  • Experience leveraging and pulling data from large data sets and platforms such as Snowflake 

  • Highly quantitative, with a keen eye for teasing out insights from volumes of data 

  • Basic understanding of experimental design (such as A/B experiments) and statistical methods 

  • Intellectual curiosity and a commercial mindset 

  • An upbeat teammate and driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic. 

  • Experience of developing data solutions such as ETLs, databases, API’s to both source and provide data, and automation a plus 

  • Experience leading teams and delivering results 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering or another quantitative field   

 

 

 

 

For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$132,500.00 - USD$162,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
