Summary of Position

The Client Onboarding Manager serves as the primary point of contact for new Paid Media clients from the sales handoff through the completion of account builds. This role owns the onboarding process by managing client communications, coordinating the collection of required deliverables, maintaining project tracking in Wrike, and ensuring the operations team receives complete and accurate information before work begins.

This is a client relationship and project coordination role, not a paid media execution role. As the liaison between clients and the operations team, the Client Onboarding Manager manages onboarding timelines and expectations, coordinates technical conversations when paid media expertise is required, and ensures a seamless onboarding experience.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the paid media onboarding process, ensuring a positive, organized, and responsive onboarding experience.
  • Lead internal sales-to-operations handoff meetings, documenting key project details and communicating all required information to the operations team.
  • Facilitate client kickoff meetings and coordinate the collection of all required credentials, assets, approvals, and onboarding information needed to complete the Paid Onboarding Analysis.
  • Manage onboarding projects in Wrike, tracking timelines, deliverables, and client communications through the pre-build phase before transitioning projects to the operations team for execution.
  • Verify that all required information, assets, and approvals have been received before authorizing the operations team to begin account builds, serving as the quality control gatekeeper for project readiness.
  • Remain the primary client point of contact throughout onboarding, coordinating outstanding deliverables, approvals, status updates, and launch communications.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the client onboarding portal and questionnaire in partnership with the Operations Lead to ensure efficient and accurate information gathering.
  • Recognize when client questions or discussions require technical paid media expertise and coordinate timely involvement from the operations team, ensuring clients receive the appropriate level of support while maintaining ownership of the overall onboarding process.
  • Additional job duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in project management, account management, client success, or a similar client-facing coordination role, preferably within a digital marketing agency.
  • Working knowledge of paid media platforms, including Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and Meta Ads
  • Experience using project management software (i.e., Wrike) and CRM platforms (i.e., Salesforce)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to confidently lead client meetings, confidently explaining onboarding requirements and process, and manage client relationships
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing client onboarding, implementation, or project transitions in an agency environment
  • Familiarity with Google Ads Manager and Meta Business Manager, particularly user access, permissions, and administrative functions
  • PMP certification or similar project management credential is a plus

The total compensation for this salaried opportunity includes a base salary of $60,000 - $70,000 annually. This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple factors, including role, level, experience, and location. This role is eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus. Bonus eligibility is based on performance metrics and company results. As you go through our interview process, your recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed range.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
