At Phillip Jeffries, every relationship begins with a thoughtful first impression. We’re looking for a Client Onboarding Ambassador who’s ready to make that moment count.

As our new Client Onboarding Ambassador, you’ll be the first voice new trade applicants hear and the guide who walks them through their initial experience with Phillip Jeffries. Reporting to our Sales Development Manager, this remote role is all about building trust, creating clarity, and ensuring a smooth transition into our world of luxury wallcoverings.

If you’re naturally warm, detail-oriented, and love connecting with people, this role might be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

Client Engagement and Onboarding

  • Deliver a PJ-branded, five-star welcome to new trade applicants
  • Make outbound calls to confirm business details and assign accounts appropriately
  • Ask guided intake questions to collect project information and client needs
  • Create web user profiles and logins for new trade accounts
  • Provide introductory product and brand information prior to sales team hand-off
  • Guide non-trade inquiries to appropriate ecommerce or partner resources
  • Track all activities and communications in CRM to ensure seamless follow-up

Sales and Client Support

  • Enter customer and business details accurately into CRM
  • Place initial sample and mailer orders for new trade accounts
  • Respond to phone and email inquiries with speed and professionalism
  • Provide basic product, pricing, and stock information to clients
  • Route more complex or in-depth inquiries to the appropriate sales team
  • Support sales team continuity and maintain a consistent onboarding experience

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: You have at least three years of success in sales, sales development, or telesales. Experience within the design industry is a strong plus, but what matters most is your ability to build relationships and manage client interactions with professionalism and care.
  • Communication Skills: Your written and verbal communication skills are excellent. You can clearly and confidently convey information, whether it’s over the phone, email, or in CRM notes. You know how to listen actively and respond with empathy and precision.
  • CRM Proficiency: You are comfortable navigating customer relationship management systems and understand the importance of keeping accurate and up-to-date records. You use CRM tools to track client information, follow up on leads, and support sales workflows efficiently.
  • Remote Work Capability: You are self-motivated and disciplined, able to work independently in a remote setting. Staying connected with your team and managing your time effectively come naturally to you.
  • Client-Focused Attitude: You genuinely enjoy helping people and are committed to delivering a positive experience for every client. You are patient, approachable, and always keep the client’s needs front and center.
  • Organizational Skills: You are comfortable juggling multiple tasks at once while maintaining attention to detail. You prioritize well, manage your workload without missing deadlines, and take pride in your accuracy.
  • Personable Style: You have a warm and friendly communication style that makes clients feel heard and supported from the very first interaction. Your natural approachability helps build trust quickly and sets the tone for a great working relationship.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
