Who We Are

Nava is on a mission to #fixhealthcare. Nearly 160M Americans rely on their employers for healthcare — yet the system is broken, bloated, and dominated by incumbents who resist change. Nava fuses deep benefits expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver a modern, transparent, and affordable healthcare experience.

Founded by seasoned entrepreneurs and backed by leading investors, Nava is one of the fastest-growing benefits brokerages in the country. We’re the first to combine brokerage know-how with proprietary tech like HQ: our AI-powered benefits platform, designed to help HR teams take control of renewals, simplify strategy, eliminate spreadsheet chaos, and empower employees to navigate their benefits with ease.

In a $50B industry hungry for change, Nava is built to win — lowering costs for employers, delighting employees, and reshaping how healthcare works for millions of Americans.

About This Role & Why It Matters

We’re hiring a Small Group Client Manager / Senior Client Manager to join our West Coast Client Success team and support our California client portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who can roll up their sleeves on the tactical work while also serving as a consultative benefits expert who leads client engagements with strategic insight. We’re specifically looking for experience independently managing California small group employer relationships in the 50–100 life range. This is a fully remote role, with a strong preference for California-based candidates or those with deep expertise in the CA small group market.

What makes this opportunity unique: at Nava, you’ll be on the frontlines supporting our #fixhealthcare mission by helping employers and employees get more value from their benefits. You’ll have the chance to make an outsized impact, while working with industry leading AI-powered tools transforming how HR teams manage renewals and how employees experience their benefits. This is a chance to do the work you love — championing client relationships, guiding members through the benefits journey, and delivering creative strategies — while also helping us dismantle the outdated, antiquated practices that keep this industry stuck in the stone ages. At Nava, you get to be the change that makes benefits smarter, simpler, and actually work for people. Join us!

What You’ll Do
  • Own the Outcome of Your Book of Business: Manage a portfolio of California small group employer clients (50–100 lives), serving as their trusted advisor and proactively addressing needs throughout the plan year.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Lead annual service plan execution including renewals, open enrollment, compliance support, vendor deployment, and member education.
  • Innovate Benefits Strategies: Design creative, consultative benefit solutions based on strong knowledge of the California small group market, funding arrangements, carriers, and products.
  • Create and Present Client Deliverables: Develop and deliver materials such as renewal presentations, financial reporting, budget reviews, and education sessions for clients and members.
  • Enhance Client Experience: Collaborate with internal teams and vendor partners to streamline day-to-day servicing, ensure exceptional delivery, and strengthen Nava’s client success capabilities.
  • Manage and Deepen Relationships: Foster executive-level relationships with client leaders and create “superfan” clients by consistently delivering novel benefit solutions.
What You’ll Bring

We understand that your experience is more than just a list of requirements, so we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all of the following bullet points.

  • Experience: 5–7 years of employee benefits experience at a brokerage, with recent experience independently managing small group employer accounts (50–100 lives).
  • California Market Expertise: Proven success supporting small employer groups based in California, with strong knowledge of CA-specific plans, products, and compliance requirements.
  • Benefits Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial arrangements and health products, including fully insured and level-funded.
  • Client Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements with strategic insight, act as a consultative advisor, and deliver a best-in-class client experience.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and written communication skills, with confidence presenting renewals, financials, and open enrollment sessions.
  • Education & Licensing: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (or equivalent experience). California Health Insurance License required.
What You’ll Get
  • A rare chance to transform the employee benefits experience and be part of fixing healthcare with a mission-driven, high-growth company.
  • The opportunity to make a direct, visible impact on clients and members — your work will be celebrated and felt immediately.
  • A front-row seat to industry innovation, with access to Nava’s AI-powered benefits platform, giving you the tools to do the best work of your career.
  • A collaborative, ambitious team where your expertise and voice shape how we serve clients and reimagine an outdated industry.
Benefits:
  • Health & Wellness: Medical insurance, including a $0 premium HDHP plan for individuals, Dental, Vision, Telehealth and Virtual Primary Care Visits, OneMedical membership, Wellhub, and a $50 monthly benefit to improve your mental or physical health.
  • Financial Support: Stock options, 401(k) with a $2,000 match, FSA, HSA, and access to Origin Financial.
  • Work-Life: Flexible PTO, 12 weeks of paid parental leave with 2 weeks of transition time, $50 monthly connectivity reimbursement, and company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance, with additional voluntary benefits like supplemental life, AD&D, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness coverage.
  • Professional Support: $1,000 home office setup stipend and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

We believe solving healthcare requires embracing America’s diversity. Nava is committed to an equitable, inclusive workplace and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who embodies our values: Own the Outcome, Be a Great Co-pilot, Drive Progress Through Action, and Create Super Fans.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
