Brainlabs is the media agency built to answer one question: what's actually driving profit? Founded in 2012 by Daniel Gilbert, we were built by engineers before we were a media agency. Today, 1,000+ Brainlabbers across five continents use our proprietary agents, built on 32 media tools and over 2,500 logged experiments, to help brands connect every channel they plan and buy to one thing: the bottom line.

So you’re interested in becoming a Integrated Media Director (Non-Profit)? Let's dive into what that means:

  • Role type: Full-time
  • Team: Client Leadership
  • Reporting to: Client Partner
  • Location: New York City, New York
  • Compensation: We hire candidates across our US office locations and at varying levels of experience. Our posted salary ranges reflect differences in both location and experience, with final compensation determined once a candidate’s background and location are confirmed.
  • Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship or continuation for this position.

As an Integrated Media Director at Brainlabs, your singular focus is growth: growing your clients’ businesses, growing our business, and growing the careers of your team. Our Integrated Media Directors are media planning experts who connect channels and platforms to unlock growth through truly integrated media. They apply the right measurement methodologies and use rigorous testing to deliver measurable commercial impact.

In this role you will:

  • Serve as the primary client contact, building trust and ensuring seamless communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Lead strategic planning for full-funnel fundraising campaigns, from awareness through conversion and retention.
  • Provide expertise in fundraising best practices, including donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative, digital, social, email, SMS, SEO and Search) to execute integrated campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to optimize results.
  • Identify growth opportunities with clients and support revenue generation through strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the agency at client meetings and in thought leadership discussions.
  • Get deep into your clients’ businesses, ensuring we beat – not just meet – our commitments
  • Design and deliver integrated, test-and-learn media solutions, bringing the right Brainlabs capabilities together to unlock growth
  • Lead client testing roadmaps, continually finding new ways to earn incremental impact
  • Act as the senior day-to-day client lead, building trusted relationships with mid-level and senior stakeholders
  • Lead forecasting, planning, measurement, and reporting, using data to drive clear decisions and accountability

We’re looking for someone who:

  • 6+ years’ experience delivering full-service, integrated media solutions, ideally within fundraising vertical
  • Experience at an independent media agency
  • Channel planning experience with a strong integrated media planning and strategy background
  • Fluency in modern measurement, including using outputs from MMM and MTA models
  • A systems-thinking mindset, able to connect channels, platforms, and measurement into cohesive strategies
  • End-to-end understanding of full-service agency delivery, from strategy through activation and optimisation
  • Strong client leadership skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and translate complex challenges into clear media solutions
  • Ability to thrive working in person with clients and teams
  • Client references available

And this is what success looks like in the role:

  • You’ll deliver incremental growth for your clients
  • You’ll actively develop the careers of those around you
  • You will be a positive contributor to our culture
  • You will develop processes and systems that enable you to be promoted.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
