Mission & Vision Statement

Our mission at Clarity is to:

  1. Be a trusted guide that helps millions of families to discover, plan for and access the best educational opportunities for their children.
  2. Help schools to adapt and operate like the dynamic businesses they must be in order to survive and best serve the families of the future.
  3. Build a company where people are able to do the best work of their careers and consistently solve complex problems in novel ways that create unique value in the world.

The first step in fulfilling this mission is our transformative financial aid application, which launched in 2022 and has already grown to over 1000 private K-12 schools and more than 150,000 family users. Building on this momentum, we have just completed a pilot of our next two products: Contracts and Billing, which uniquely position us to solve a variety of problems for both schools and families.

Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Client Experience, your primary objective will be to ensure that the schools you work with are fully implemented, trained, and supported throughout the year so that they are able to use the Clarity software to achieve their strategic priorities and operational goals.

As a Client Success Manager for Contracts & Billing, you won’t just be supporting schools—you’ll be guiding them through processes that directly impact their financial sustainability. Schools trust us because our CSMs have walked in their shoes. Whether it’s helping a business officer streamline tuition billing, ensuring compliance with accounting best practices, or providing insight into family payment trends, your expertise will make a tangible difference.

If you have spent time working in a school business office and want to use that experience to help others, this role is for you.

We have assembled a diverse team of highly qualified and experienced industry professionals to build and deliver Clarity. You will work alongside a team of client success managers that each maintain a portfolio of schools. This role will specifically involve the following responsibilities:

  • Training schools through the onboarding and implementation process.
  • Proactively scheduling and leading regular check in calls with schools throughout the year and ensuring that they are on track to hit their goals using Clarity.
  • Serving as a trusted thought partner to schools.
  • Communicating with the product team any feature requests or product improvements that could be made to better serve the schools and families who benefit from the use of Clarity software.
  • Responding quickly to support inquiries that schools submit and escalating relevant ones to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Soliciting and documenting feedback data from client schools.
  • Attending and participating in regular team/company meetings as scheduled.
  • Attending and participating in professional conferences as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining training materials resources for school users.
  • Performing other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ direct work experience in a PK-12 school business office or non-profit billing and accounting.
  • A current CPA license is strongly preferred.
  • Maintains a growth mindset and is eager to join a quickly growing team that provides many opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Embraces uncertainty and views the ability to design processes with excitement.
  • Genuinely enjoys and finds fulfillment in helping people solve their problems.
  • Is comfortable with technology and able to learn new systems and software quickly
    • Software infrastructure used regularly includes: HubSpot, Zoom, Google Suite, Loom, Tango, LogRocket, Linear, and Notion.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience using spreadsheets to analyze data and drive decision making.

Benefits

  • You will be paid competitively, receive stock options and have a variety of other benefits, including 100% company-sponsored health, medical and dental insurance.
  • Clarity has grown from 0 to 70 employees in under 3 years and is poised for continued growth.
  • Clarity is a product focused organization that consistently invests in improving the experience of its school and family users.
  • Clarity is a fully remote work environment, but also provides both team specific and all company sponsored offsites every year.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
