Job Summary
This is an entry level position within the claims operation, supporting claims personnel in all disciplines. Performs duties that ensure compliance with government regulations, processes paperwork, issues payments, may answer incoming phone calls and make outbound calls to customers and vendors. Enters data into various systems. Processes financial transactions and DMV documents. Performs all duties under general supervision.
Job Duties
Answer and handle telephone inquiries and make outbound calls to customers and vendors. For complex issues transfer calls to the appropriate party for handling. Respond to incoming mail inquiries and may receive and assist direct visitors.
Issue payments, collect and process salvage proceeds, checks, DMV refunds and documents, subrogation payments and miscellaneous reimbursements and fees in the appropriate systems. Enter information or notes in the appropriate systems.
Update and maintain records which may include databases or other computer records. Prepare moderately complex reports and spreadsheets which may include information of a confidential or technical nature.
Communicate with co-workers, claims service representatives, vendors, insureds and other agencies regarding claims.
Perform bookkeeping tasks which could include daily reconciliation, expense reports and tracking of payment and invoices. Record and submit monthly Branch Office check disbursement reports. Balance cash drawer and prepare daily bank deposits.
May perform administrative duties to support the department. May schedule appointments and reserve facilities. Duties may include issues relating to facilities, employees, supplies and safety.
Majority of decisions are based on established procedures and company requirements. Occasionally independent judgment must be used to resolve issues with customers, buyers and vendors.
Qualifications
High School GED Required
1-3 years Claims operations/systems processing
Must be comfortable handling money transactions
Moderate skill in using Microsoft Office products required
Moderate verbal, telephone and written communication skills required
Moderate knowledge of computers and inside cashiering system necessary
Good typing skills essential
Requires ability to prioritize and multi-task, while maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy
Good interpersonal skills required
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to off-site business meetings or conferences.
The starting pay range for this position is:
$21.11 - $28.12Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
