Work directly with co-CEOs to scope and execute ambiguous priorities end-to-end, build staffing and capacity models, produce memos and analyses, use AI to improve productivity, and provide fast synchronous context transfer. Operate independently across detailed execution and senior stakeholder interactions without direct people management responsibility.
The summary above was generated by AI

Correlation One is the largest provider of AI and data workforce development programs globally, having trained over 500,000 professionals across 11 countries. As the largest training provider for Amazon Career Choice, and a growing partner to state governments building registered apprenticeship programs, Correlation One sits at the intersection of employer talent needs and scalable workforce training.

We work with Fortune 500 enterprises, federal and state government agencies, and leading employers to close skills gaps in AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and operations leadership. Our programs produce job-ready graduates who are prepared to contribute from day one.

Your impact

As Chief of Staff, you will work directly with our two co-CEOs, doing hands-on work and producing real output, not just tracking projects for other people. You will step in to run things directly when needed, take priorities off the CEOs' plates, and build a staffing and capacity model across our delivery teams.

This is a high-caliber operator role. It is not a senior or VP-level chief of staff position, and it is not a people manager role.

A day in the life

  • Take on deliberately underspecified problems from the co-CEOs and scope your own path to a resolution, rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Own fuzzy, ambiguous asks all the way through to done, without needing to be walked through them.
  • Build models, tools, and systems that other people at Correlation One come to rely on.
  • Use AI directly in your own work to move faster and produce better output, not just as a talking point.
  • Move fluidly between grunt work and senior-room work in the same week, from detailed analysis to sitting in a room full of senior client executives.
  • Write clearly and directly, bottom line first, in memos, briefs, and updates prepared for the co-CEOs.
  • Build and maintain a staffing and capacity model across delivery teams to support resourcing decisions.
  • Provide fast, synchronous context transfer to the co-CEOs, especially in your first two quarters in the role.

Your expertise

  • 3 to 6 years at a top consulting firm, or a strong equivalent operating role.
  • A track record of using AI to do real work, with something real you've built using it.
  • Comfortable being the most junior person in a room full of senior client executives, and holding your own.
  • Comfortable working with account numbers and financials without hand-holding.
  • A bias toward finishing things independently: you can point to specific examples of taking a fuzzy ask all the way to done.
  • Range without ego: equally willing to do grunt work and senior-room work, not someone who only wants to do strategy.
  • You write and speak bottom-line-first, plain, no filler; comfortable delivering direct updates to co-CEOs without hedging or over-explaining.
  • You can use judgment under ambiguity: you can take a deliberately underspecified problem and scope a path forward without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Fast context absorption: picks up dense, fast-moving context quickly enough to support synchronous, real-time decision-making with the co-CEOs.

Where you are

This role is remote and should be located in Canada, compatible with the EST time zone. We optimize for time zone overlap given how much the role depends on fast, synchronous context transfer, especially in the first two quarters. We are headquartered in New York City with office space in Midtown Manhattan.

How we support our people

  • Insurance or subsidies based on country
  • Unlimited Time Off
  • Company-paid holidays
  • Official company-wide week long holiday for the last week in December
  • Access to free data skills training through our programs
  • A company culture that empowers individuals and embraces diversity through its core mission

The base salary band for this role in Canada is C$135,000 to C$170,000. The compensation range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions, including (but not limited to) location, experience, education, and skill sets.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
