Our client is a leading fintech innovator in the Tampa Bay area seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join their team.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for leading financial operations, guiding the company through capital raises, regulatory compliance, and rapid expansion. The CFO is a strategic leader who works closely with the CEO and leadership team to create synergy, break down silos, and create interdepartmental unity leading to long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes financial strategies to achieve company milestones, including fundraising, Series B+C planning, and potential M+A

  • Oversees cash flow forecasting, cash flow projections, and burn rate optimization to ensure runway efficiency.

  • Monitors company market analysis and trends, customer acquisition, retention rates, product development, and other data-driven factors, all which impact growth-oriented decision-making

  • Leads financial planning, budgeting, and monthly/quarterly reporting for the Board of Directors, ensuring accurate metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, etc)

  • Develops and implements effective pricing and go-to-market strategies

  • Develops and manages the budget for growth initiatives

  • Acts as the primary financial liaison with investors, venture debt providers, and board members

  • Ensures strict adherence to financial regulations and manages tax compliance

  • Provides leadership, mentorship, and coaching to support overall engagement, performance, and career success

Target Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of progressive financial experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a fintech or B2B startup environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required

  • MBA or CPA preferred

  • Proven track record of increasing revenues and meeting revenue targets

  • Experience with data driven decision-making based on business metrics

  • Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively and effectively in both an individual and team environment that is ever-changing

  • An inspirational leadership style, with success inspiring teams

  • Exceptional communication skills on all levels

  • Critical thinking, strategic, and highly analytical
