You've Built Businesses. Now Help Others Do the Same.

Have you built and grown businesses, owned the P&L, and made the tough decisions that drive profitability? Do you enjoy sitting down with a business owner, talking through their challenges, and helping them figure out how to build a better business?

How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm (HTM) is looking for an experienced business operator to join our team as a CEO Advisor. You'll work directly with small and midsized business owners, helping them develop business plans, improve financial performance, solve operational challenges, and execute strategies for growth.

This isn't about handing over a strategy deck. It's about building relationships, asking the right questions, challenging owners when necessary, and helping turn good decisions into measurable results.

We bring you the clients. You bring the business experience.

What You'll Do
  • Work directly with business owners to develop business plans, growth strategies, and actionable priorities.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, cash flow, and profitability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify operational challenges and help owners implement practical solutions.
  • Coach owners through difficult decisions, challenge assumptions, and establish accountability.
  • Help businesses build stronger systems, improve execution, and increase long-term business value.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven operating experience: A background as a CEO, President, COO, or comparable senior operating executive, with direct accountability for the company's overall P&L. You owned the business results—not just a department, sales target, or advisory relationship.
  • Business growth experience: You've personally operated and grown businesses with annual revenues ranging from approximately $500K to $30M+, and can explain the decisions and actions that drove results.
  • Small and midsized business expertise: The majority of your operating and leadership experience has been with small and midsized businesses, not exclusively large enterprise organizations.
  • Business-owner connection: You can sit across the table from an owner and have a practical, candid conversation about business strategy, financial performance, growth plans, and what's holding the company back.
  • Financial and strategic acumen: You understand how pricing, margins, cash flow, people, and operations work together to drive profitability.
  • Hands-on leadership: You don't just identify problems. You help owners prioritize solutions, execute plans, and stay accountable for results.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $110,000 base salary
  • $182,000+ total earnings potential through performance-based compensation
  • Uncapped performance opportunity, subject to the compensation plan
  • HTM's Elite Benefits Bundle
  • Full-time W-2 employment, with clients provided by HTM

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
