About Vercel:

Vercel’s Frontend Cloud provides the developer experience and infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. Customers like Under Armour, eBay, The Washington Post, Johnson & Johnson, and Zapier use Vercel to build dynamic user experiences on the web.

At Vercel, our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products and that goes hand in hand with creating an environment where you can do the best work of your life.

About the Role:

We’re hiring a Product Manager to lead Vercel’s CDN and Edge Network—core infrastructure for fast, secure content delivery. The CDN powers everything from static cacheing to dynamic responses across our global edge. You'll drive performance and reliability, as well as define and productize security for Vercel’s CDN.

What You Will Do:

  • Advance caching at the edge: Evolve strategies for static and dynamic content delivery, reducing latency and server load
  • Build security as a product: Productize features like bot protection, custom firewall rules, and rate limiting for developers and platform teams
  • Own performance and reliability: Monitor the edge network, debug regressions, and drive improvements across the CDN
  • Support large customers: Ensure our edge platform scales with the needs of enterprise users and regulated industries

About You:

  • Strong CDN and edge expertise: You understand how content is cached and delivered globally, and what can go wrong
  • Security-focused mindset: You’ve worked on security or infra products and understand what’s needed to protect large-scale platforms
  • Product + revenue instincts: You know how to turn core capabilities into differentiated, monetizable features
  • Technical fluency: You were an engineer or technical PM—comfortable with protocols, headers, DNS, and certificates
  • Execution & Influence: You know how to earn trust and get things done
  • Quantitative background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred

Bonus Points:

  • Passion for Vercel & Frontend Ecosystem: You appreciate our mission, understand the needs of modern developers, and have opinions about where frontend technology is headed.

Note: We encourage you to apply even if you don't feel you meet all qualifications. Many successful candidates don't check every box listed.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $164,000.00 - $246,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
