We believe that through Gospel teaching, training, and resources, God’s people are enabled to take their discipleship into their own hands. We do this by living out the listening, serving, and helping posture of Jesus in our church community.

The ministry began with the church located in Costa Mesa, CA and has flourished and expanded into a multifaceted ministry whose influence has reached to the ends of the earth. We have now re-focused as a local Church-centered organization with a goal of forming, resourcing and educating followers of Jesus.

Calvary Chapel Schools (CCS) was established to meet the educational, social, and spiritual needs of the children of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. CCS is a ministry of CCCM, building up Christian leaders in mind, body, and soul through Biblical truth, character development, and strong academic pursuits, enabling students to serve and enjoy Christ and their community.

The CCS Bookkeeper supports the financial health and operational integrity of Calvary Chapel School by managing day-to-day accounting functions with accuracy, confidentiality, and care. This role works in coordination with CCS Administration as well as the broader Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa ministry Accounting infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings solid bookkeeping experience and a heart for supporting Christian education.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Agree with and live out the vision and values of CCCM as outlined in the Statement of Faith (www.cccm.com).
  • Agree with and live out Calvary Chapel’s Code of Conduct and Youth Protection Policy
  • Be an example to those with whom you come in contact and with whom you serve by exuding the love of Christ. Understanding that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry and that those who serve God on staff at CCCM are expected to embrace a high biblical, Christ-like standard of conduct and lifestyle, both public and personal
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and account activity
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate posting
  • Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes in collaboration with CCCM Accounting 
  • Maintain accurate records for tuition accounts, student billing, and fee collections through FACTS 
  • Create and maintain forms as needed for activity payments
  • Oversee Financial Aid application process and support the Tuition Assistance committee
  • Engage with appropriate sensitivity and professionalism with parents on matters concerning bill payment accountability
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries for school leadership as requested
  • Ensure documentation is organized and audit-ready
  • Communicate clearly with vendors, families, and CCCM Accounting staff regarding financial matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or finance experience required
  • Proficiency in accounting and finance software such as Jotform, Square, etc.;
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Compassionate and professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Experience in an educational or ministry setting preferred; experience with school or nonprofit finance a plus
