Chewy is seeking a multifaceted and analytical Category Manager to join our growing and fast-paced merchandising team in Boston. This role will be heavily supporting our vendors overseas in Asia and as such we are requiring bi-lingual fluency in Mandarin and English to be considered as a candidate.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

What You'll Do:
- Lead one of Chewy's Hard Goods categories.
- Have P&L ownership.
- Establish, build, and lead strong external vendor relationships, including ownership across all negotiations.
- Continue to realize growth rates across sales and profit.
- Build and implement, based on research and data insights, strategies and plans to both recruit new customers to Chewy and to develop existing customers via lifecycle management concepts.
- Find opportunities within your category to optimize and improve product performance, including analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to make quick, effective decisions for your business.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, private brands, and customer service to ensure teamwork as well as comprehensive planning and execution.
What You'll Need:
- Must be fluent in Mandarin and English at a Business communciations level
- 4+ years of comprehensive business experience in ecommerce, merchandising, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations.
- Strong comprehensive business insight and the willingness to adapt quickly. Sales/Merchandising experience.
- Proven operator, skilled in go-to-market, and with focus on execution.
- Phenomenal communication skills combined with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Outstanding examples around vendor management, merchandising, and general management.
- Ability to lead, be forward-thinking, prioritize, and run multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and solid understanding of retail math.
Bonus:
- Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations; both in bigger organizations and start-up businesses.
- SQL a plus.
