About Bobbie

Bobbie is creating a parenting culture of confidence, not comparison. And it starts with how we choose to feed our babies. We crafted our European style infant formula with purposefully sourced, organic ingredients to give parents a product they are proud to feed their babies, direct to their doorstep. Bobbie is proud to be the only US formula that is designed to meet both FDA and EU standards.

Although 83% of parents turn to formula in the first year of their baby’s life, this is the silent majority that is often shamed for not being able to exclusively breastfeed. Co-founded by two moms and created by a team of mom scientists, nutritionists, pediatricians, and lactation consultants, the Bobbie team knows first hand that there is no one size fits all for feeding. With Bobbie, we hope you can Bottle Boldly.

The Role

We are seeking a Category Insights Manager to join our team at Bobbie, where you'll drive strategic decision-making through deep category analysis and market intelligence. As a fully remote team member, you'll be responsible for translating complex data into actionable insights that fuel our mission to provide better nutrition for babies and peace of mind for parents. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Executive Leadership to identify growth opportunities and optimize our position in the infant nutrition market.

What you will accomplish:

  • Conduct comprehensive category analysis across infant formula and related baby nutrition segments, identifying market trends, growth opportunities, and competitive threats
  • Develop and bust market intelligence frameworks, tracking key performance, market share dynamics, and consumer behavior patterns in the baby formula category
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to translate insights into actionable strategies for product positioning, pricing optimization, and channel expansion
  • Create compelling presentations and reports that communicate complex data findings to stakeholders across all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to C-suite executives
  • Lead primary and secondary research initiatives, including consumer surveys, competitive analysis, and retailer partnerships to gather critical market intelligence
  • Collaborate with product development teams to identify innovation opportunities based on category gaps, emerging trends, and unmet consumer needs
  • Monitor regulatory landscape and industry developments that may impact category dynamics, ensuring Bobbie stays ahead of market shifts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry data providers, research firms, and retail partners to ensure access to critical market information
  • Drive cross-functional projects that leverage category insights to optimize go-to-market strategies and accelerate business growth

What we would like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, or related analytical field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in category management, market research, or business intelligence, preferably within CPG, infant nutrition, or related consumer health categories
  • Proven expertise with market research tools and databases such as Numerator, Nielsen, IRI, SPINS, or similar syndicated data sources
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools including Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar business intelligence platforms
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable business recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex findings to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Deep understanding of retail dynamics, particularly in grocery, specialty, and e-commerce channels relevant to baby products
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in fast-paced startup environment
  • Curiosity and passion for understanding consumer needs, particularly parents navigating feeding decisions for their infants
  • Familiarity with direct-to-consumer business models and subscription commerce preferred but not required

You’re inspired by our core values:

  • Be Radical - We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers. We are unapologetically bold and use our megaphone for good.
  • Nurture the Tension - Parenthood is full of healthy tension, and so is building a company. We embrace the unknowns, practice humility and are a culture of learners.
  • Deliver Ounce by Ounce - Our customers have entrusted us to feed their babies. We lose sleep over the details, so they don’t have to.
  • Don’t Assume - We embrace our unique perspectives, withhold judgment, and find beauty in the paths that brought us all to Bobbie. Our strength is celebrating each other and our collective voice.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
