About Palmstreet:

Palmsteet is the #1 live shopping app for rare plants, handmade crafts, & unique goods. Founded in 2020 by Instagram and Apple veterans, Palmstreet began as a plant identification app and quickly evolved into a trailblazer in live shopping. Fueled by a passionate, plant-loving community, we rapidly expanded into new categories to better serve our fast-growing audience.

Our vision is to become the “World’s Online Main Street,” bringing the charm of in-person shopping to engaging, social online experiences. Backed by top Silicon Valley VCs (a16z, Craft Ventures, Headline) and powered by a nimble, empathetic team, we’ve grown our GMV by 500x in the last 18 months.

As we continue shaping the future of social commerce, we’re looking for talented individuals who are excited to grow with us and join our mission.

The Opportunity:

Palmstreet is seeking a Category Account Manager to elevate seller success and streamline category operations. This role is pivotal in managing our growing base of sellers—particularly those with strong businesses both on and off Palmstreet—and shaping the way we approach category growth and marketing.

This role will report to the GTM Lead and is an exciting opportunity to directly influence the growth of one of Palmstreet’s most dynamic verticals, by supporting sellers at scale and driving day-to-day operational excellence.

If you thrive in strategic execution, structure, and seller relationships; this may be the role for you! You’ll play a hands-on role in growing GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) by ensuring promising sellers get the support they need to thrive on-platform—especially in their early weeks—while also helping to implement repeatable frameworks for scalable growth.

This role sits at the intersection of category operations and account management offering broad exposure, high ownership, and clear pathways to measurable outcomes. You’ll see your work reflected in seller & category GMV growth—and you’ll be a critical part of making the plants category not just stable, but scalable.

Responsibilities:

  • Support emerging sellers who show early promise and identify existing sellers with high growth potential by analyzing sales data metrics

  • Grow sellers with sizable off-platform businesses, helping them transition to scalable success on Palmstreet

  • Identify and nurture mid-tier sellers by:

    • Monitoring data to surface opportunity accounts

    • Providing structured support (e.g., strategy sessions, targeted incentives)

    • Guiding seller growth

  • Develop a formulaic and scalable growth framework for these cohorts:

    • Establish seller touchpoint cadences

    • Identifying emerging sellers and proactively reaching out

    • Test incentives and motivators for sellers to promote growth on our app

  • Execute category operations with cross-functional teams

  • Manage ad-hoc seller needs and internal coordination

  • Monitor seller performance and pipeline health, escalating insights as needed

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in a high touch-point collaborative Account Manager or Category Manager role with a proven track record of success; preferably within a early stage or high growth startup, marketplace experience a plus

  • Service Mindset —You are a seller(customer)-obsessed and execution-focused operator with a passion to work with small businesses

  • Strategic with a focus on operations — you possess the ability to build structure from ambiguity, and manage the daily realities of a fast-growing category

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive, with the ability to manage dozens of seller touch-points simultaneously

  • Strong communicator — persuasive and approachable, capable of motivating sellers through friendly, thoughtful communication while building trust quickly

  • Innovative Creator — constantly generating new ideas to help sellers grow and to build better internal processes and programs

Your Location:

  • Remote — You will live in Los Angeles, CA

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000

The pay range for this role is determined by job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and current market data. This specific compensation estimate is based on the ranges for Tier 2 locations (e.g. Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin). Compensation ranges may be modified in the future to adjust for updated market data.

  • In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes:

  • Equity Incentive Plan

  • Generous health insurance contribution (for you & dependents)

  • Dental & vision insurance

  • Life insurance

  • 12 paid holidays + Paid Time Off (PTO) + Paid Sick Days

  • 401(k) plan with company matching

  • Remote Work Expense reimbursement

  • Work From Home Setup and Learning & Development stipend

  • Palmstreet credit

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
