Your Role:
The Capital Management Specialist will be responsible for providing specialized expertise and support in managing the organization's capital resources. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to assess capital needs, develop strategies for capital optimization, and ensure efficient utilization of capital.
Your Work:
Analyze financial data, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations to enhance capital management practices.
With supervision, operationalize an economic capital framework including capital determination and allocation, profitability target setting, risk profile optimization, and decision making/strategic planning input.
Prepare capital reporting and help drive explicit consideration of long-term capital needs and desired financial performance.
Preliminarily assess the impact of capital management decisions on the organization's financial performance.
Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate the resilience of the capital structure.
Support board material preparation.
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related areas
3 + years’ experience in a related discipline including insurance or financial analysis, actuarial, underwriting, product management, risk management, or capital planning.
1 + years’ experience in capital planning (highly preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using financial modeling tools, software, and platforms.

MBA or Master’s degree or equivalent in related areas
Understanding of the property casualty insurance industry
Understanding of CSAA IG business strategy
Knowledge of capital management principles, financial analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to capital management.
Broad actuarial skillset with deep understanding of pricing, reserving, ERM, statutory accounting, and risk and return concepts.
Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
Associate in Reinsurance (ARe)
Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
Financial Risk Management (FRM)
Associate of Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS)
Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.).
Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.).
Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings.
