About the Role:
Dr. Squatch is looking for a Buyer to join our Supply Chain org. This role is responsible for executing purchase orders for raw materials, maintaining accurate and up-to-date order information in Anvyl, NetSuite, and Google Sheets, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure all orders are fulfilled on time and in full. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building and maintaining effective supplier relationships. A high attention to detail and comfort working in an ERP or similarly complex platform are necessary for success in this position.
This role will report to Senior Sourcing Manager, Raw Materials
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina Del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $70,000 to $85,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials in Anvyl and NetSuite based on requirements determined by supply planning.
- Send purchase orders to suppliers, confirm receipt and acceptance of terms, and ensure all open orders are updated with accurate quantities, pricing, and delivery dates.
- Partner with supply planning and production teams to execute PO changes and assist in monitoring raw material inventory levels to proactively adjust purchasing as needed.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the sourcing team to maintain accurate pricing, ensure supplier RFPs and samples are current, and help identify alternate material options for new purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable material supply and proactive communication.
- Assist in efforts to negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times to support cost-effective and timely procurement.
- Partner with supply planning, sourcing, production, quality, and operations teams to align on material requirements, production schedules, and delivery priorities.
- Assist with sourcing efforts by reaching out to new suppliers, gathering quotations, ordering samples and maintaining supplier data for benchmarking and evaluation.
- Help track, analyze, and report on key procurement metrics such as lead time performance, cost savings, and supplier reliability.
- Continuously look for opportunities to streamline procurement processes and improve cross-functional communication.
- Occasional travel to industry conferences, vendor sites and Dr. Squatch factory.
About You:
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain
- Experience in ERP or NetSuite specifically preferred
- Experience working directly with suppliers and executing purchase orders is required
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or eCommerce industries
- Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred
- Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency
- Someone who has high standards takes ownership and is invested in the outcome
- Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor
