Job Summary:

Product Manager II (P2) to support day-to-day product execution for CPT (Content Planning Tool) and its integrations, part of the broader Title Origination & Insights ecosystem. In this role, you will build a strong understanding of content planning capabilities and end-to-end processes, contributing to the ongoing enhancement, reliability, and scalability of the platform within a defined product scope.

Key responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing business requirements and translating them into clear product specifications and user stories. Working in a cross-functional team environment with design, engineering, and infrastructure partners, this role supports the advancement of CPT to meet evolving business needs—enabling consistent, scalable execution for major streaming initiatives (e.g., Hotstar, Delta/Gemini) and supporting the growth of Disney's Direct-to-Consumer platforms (Disney+, Hulu, etc.) through improved automation, operational efficiency, and planning accuracy.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Own a defined set of features within CPT, managing end-to-end delivery from requirements through launch; support backlog management and prioritization in collaboration with the Sr. Product Manager, ensuring stories are well-defined and sprint-ready
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, define, and document requirements; translate into clear product specifications, user stories, workflows, process maps, and acceptance criteria
  • Proactively identify and propose feature improvements based on business goals, user feedback, and KPIs; begin to analyze and evaluate trade-offs across scope, effort, and business value in collaboration with the Sr. Product Manager
  • Assist in business case development using appropriate modeling techniques and methods
  • Contribute to CPT integration efforts with upstream and downstream partner systems, including requirements definition, testing, and operational readiness
  • Support data quality and validation efforts for planning-critical fields to enable reliable downstream reporting and operational execution
  • Surface and support workflow automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy for planning and release operations
  • Develop and execute UAT test scripts and acceptance criteria; support release coordination and change management activities; track and report on feature outcomes against defined KPIs post-launch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA, product, and project management) to implement solutions aligned with product strategy and business objectives
  • Provide day-to-day product lifecycle support including leading or supporting Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives), removing blockers, and supporting cross-functional communication as new features are launched or processes evolve
  • Build and maintain product documentation, user guides, and training materials to support platform adoption and sustainment
  • Support additional activities as needed to meet product and business objectives

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrixed organization while managing multiple initiatives and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated product understanding and platform familiarity
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset; able to manage a defined set of features end-to-end with minimal supervision and begin to influence team decisions
  • Experience translating business needs into requirements, user stories, workflows, and product specifications with clear acceptance criteria
  • Ability to craft and validate problems; identify pain points, incorporate user and stakeholder feedback, and propose feature enhancements grounded in data and metrics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to create clear technical documentation, present feature updates, and build trust with stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and cross-functional teams in agile delivery environments
  • Clear understanding of software development processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Ability to contribute to product roadmap definition and communicate priorities to stakeholders
  • Understanding of business modeling and cost/benefit analysis to support prioritization decisions
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across functional teams
  • Familiarity using modern AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, and/or product workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure or experience with Agile development tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Prior work experience in content planning, title management, or metadata management
  • Knowledge of or experience in media & entertainment industry
  • Understanding of media production workflows, digital video workflows, or consumer-facing video product features
  • Familiarity with API-based integrations or data platform ecosystems

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
