The Business Operations Associate at CopilotIQ + Biofourmis will manage operational workflows, analyze data, implement processes, and collaborate across teams to enhance performance and efficiency in healthcare operations.
The summary above was generated by AI

CopilotIQ is delivering the first AI-driven platform for the 60 Million older Americans with chronic conditions like diabetes, CHF, and hypertension, with a goal of adding five great years to their lives. CopilotIQ is using connected devices, mobile applications, and a clinician management and automation app to build a longitudinal understanding of patient health to drive artificial intelligence. The system is using predictive analytics with a biomarker feedback loop to build a flywheel for continual improvement. Much like a pilot has a computer and person sitting next to them to ensure they stay safe, we believe every patient deserves to have someone watching over them and ensuring they are healthy

What is the Business Operations Associate role?

The Business Operations Associate is a Swiss-army knife for CopilotIQ+Biofourmis, taking on high-value operational challenges and turning them into scalable, repeatable systems. You will be deployed to the most important business problems – diving into data, understanding how care and operations work on the ground, and building processes that improve performance, efficiency, and experience for patients, partners, and internal teams.

In this role, you will sometimes own a function or workflow long term, sometimes stand up a new process and transition it to another team once it is stable, and sometimes solve a one-time, high-impact problem that unlocks growth. Over time, you will become a go-to problem solver who can enter ambiguous situations with clear framing, drive alignment with stakeholders, and leave behind durable systems and metrics that continue to run without you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own critical day-to-day operational workflows (e.g., customer onboarding, support escalations, vendor performance, workforce efficiency), ensuring they run reliably and are continuously improved.
  • Dig into data (spreadsheets / basic BI tools) to understand performance, surface insights, and help leaders make better, faster decisions.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to operationalize new features or processes: define edge cases, coordinate internal training, and track launch success.
  • Gather feedback from frontline teams and users, translate it into structured problems, and work cross-functionally to implement solutions.
  • Develop and implement experiments that maximize learning in a short period of time, using results to inform process and product changes.
  • Document and standardize processes (SOPs, playbooks, checklists) so the team can scale without breaking.
  • Support special projects such as new market tests, pricing or policy experiments, and internal tooling rollouts.

What you’ll bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in fast-paced environments such as startups, consulting, banking, or operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Extremely fast-learning and structured problem-solving capability, with the ability to tackle unfamiliar problems through clear thinking and persistence rather than prior domain expertise.
  • Data-driven and process-oriented mindset, comfortable in spreadsheets and basic analytics, and motivated to deepen skills with more advanced tools over time.
  • Clear, concise communication skills in both writing and speaking, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • High comfort with ambiguity and “no playbook” environments, with strong motivation to design and build new processes from scratch.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate operational complexity and coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups; healthcare experience is a plus but not required.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
