Job Description

We are seeking a mid-senior level Business Manager to support the APAC leadership team at Wise, reporting to the APAC Head of Expansion / Singapore CEO. This role will be pivotal in strategically enabling and accelerating key initiatives across APAC markets and scaling the impact of the APAC leadership team by driving cross-functional projects, enhancing operational efficiencies and providing critical strategic insights. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, project management and analytics with the ability to work collaboratively across various functions and regions.

What will you be doing?

  • Collaborate directly with the APAC Head of Expansion and APAC Product Director in owning and continuously optimising the quarterly planning process for the APAC teams meticulously tracking achievements and misses from the previous quarter and driving actionable insights 
  • Proactively collaborate with our Analytics team to synthesise and present critical data insights and performance metrics across all APAC markets.
  • You will translate findings into compelling, data-driven solutions which you will present at MBRs and beyond, ensuring these insights inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Drive the strategic agenda and content development for key APAC leadership forums, including Monthly Business Reviews and semi-annual strategy offsites, ensuring discussions are data-driven, actionable, and aligned with regional growth objectives. 
  • Lead and manage ad-hoc cross-functional projects in APAC e.g. research on a new market entry opportunity size and entry pathway, Wise Platform requests etc.
  • Support the APAC Operations Director to streamline processes, monitor OKR performance, and track respective action plans. across the various servicing departments (Customer Support, KYC, Financial Crime, Payment Operations) 
  • Support the APAC Expansion Lead with regional forecasts and budgets 
  • Provide interim support for critical initiatives during team member absences to ensure continuity of strategic projects.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of strategy/operations/project management experience in a combination of consulting, banking, fintech, or high-growth tech companies.
  • Experience operating within the APAC region is highly advantageous, with an understanding of its diverse market dynamics, regulatory environments, and cultural nuances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you excel at clearly communicating complex information and ideas to all levels. 
  • You'll need a proven track record of leading complex data analysis, interpreting findings into actionable business insights, and effectively presenting these insights to senior stakeholders to drive strategic decision-making. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment to get the job done. Not afraid to get your hands dirty to deliver what is needed.
  • You take a pro-active and anticipatory approach, identifying potential issues & opportunties before they arise. 
  • You are diplomatic and collaborative. This is a high-stakes, high-exposure role and leading without authority is a critical ingredient for success.
  • Exposure to regulatory and compliance topics is a plus
  • Understanding of or interest in the financial services industry.
