Position Summary
Focus Financial Partners/Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman LLP (GRF) is seeking a a detail-oriented and proactive Business Management Paralegal to support legal and operational activities related to business management agreements and business management services, with a primary focus on supporting Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman LLP (GRF). Focus Financial/GRF provide team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. The hybrid work arrangement may be adjusted or altered to fill the needs of the role, including potentially working in-office for 3+ days per week. This role is hybrid out of our Century City, CA office. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) and General Counsel (“GC”) of GRF, as well as the Focus Legal team, to facilitate the preparation, execution, and ongoing administration of business management agreements and related documentation, special legal projects, and organization of client-related litigation requests and risk support.
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of business management agreements, including:
    • Drafting and updating templates
    • Incorporating deal-specific terms and revisions
    • Ensuring completeness and consistency across agreements
    • Collaborating with the COO and GC of GRF to finalize agreement efficiently and expeditiously. 
  • Coordinate execution of agreements by managing signature processes; tracking status and completions, and following up with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain organized records of executed agreements and related documentation
  • Coordinate new agreements on missing or expired enragements
  • Support ongoing administration of agreements 
  • Serve as a key point of coordination and communication between Focus Legal; GRF General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer; Internal business and finance teams 
  • Assist in resolving routine issues or discrepancies in documentation, escalating more complex matters as appropriate
  • Prepare summaries and status reports for Legal leadership and GRF stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across internal systems and documentation repositories
  • Support general corporate paralegal functions
  • Assist in improving internal workflows related to agreement management and execution
  • Maintain centralized tracking of business management agreements and key contract terms/milestone dates
  • Support implementation and maintenance of document management processes
  • Maintain standardized templates, checklists, and playbooks to promote consistency and efficiency
  • Provide support on discrete legal matters, including document collection and organization; as well as coordination with internal and outside counsel (as directed) 
  • Assist in maintaining documentation that may be relevant to disputes or enforcement matters
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4 - 8 years of paralegal, contract administration, or legal operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with commercial agreements or service agreements preferred
  • Prior exposure to entertainment business management or professional services environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with document management systems
  • Exposure to multi-entity structures or complex business arrangements
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to navigate cross-functional workflows involving Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $85,000 - $125,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
