As the Business Intelligence Developer at Our Home, you will be primarily responsible for the end-to-end execution of our Power BI enterprise reporting, exploring new technologies in the Power Platform, and acting as the primary liaison between the business and our BI Center of Excellence. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of translating business needs into actionable Power BI reports.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with business users from procurement, manufacturing, sales, finance, and other departments to provide actionable reporting insights using Power BI
  • Adhere to Power BI best-practices when deploying new solutions to the business, always keeping in mind the balance between flexibility and scalability
  • Display eagerness to learn new skills and have a passion for teaching by distilling complex topics to digestible information for the business
  • Assist end users with day-to-day inquiries such as tool troubleshooting, log-in support, and other administrative duties and be a key resource for training
  • Pioneer untapped technologies using other elements of the Power Platform such as PowerApps and PowerAutomate
  • Bolster our superuser team network by hosting targeted & intensive training sessions and being a reliable partner in helping launch reports created by business users
  • Work internally with your immediate team members to maintain and adopt Kanban board agile project management methodologies to contribute to the maturity of our processes in service of the business

Requirements
  • 3-4+ years’ experience working within Microsoft Power BI, exposure to connecting to architectures such as Microsoft SQL Server or Fabric Lakehouses a plus
  • Hands-on experience implementing complex Power BI reporting solutions and distribution to various stakeholders within a business environment
  • Strong SQL knowledge for creating Views on raw database tables
  • Strong DAX and PowerQuery knowledge for report creation
  • Power BI Service knowledge such as license types, Workspaces, and Apps
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and time management, including robust experience in requirements gathering
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Office suite of products
  • Passion for learning new skills and teaching
  • Occasional travel to supplier sites or manufacturing Locations up to 15%

Preferred Skills

  • Past experience in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Experience working with a data engineer counterpart for ETL to service business needs
  • R or Python knowledge specifically for embedding withing Power BI reports (i.e., packages like ggplot2, etc.)
  • IT architecture experience such as working with VMs, ODBC connections, or otherwise
  • Experience working with NetSuite ERP SuiteQL schema architecture or other OLTP type data sources
  • Experience developing PowerAutomate flows and/or PowerApps to address business needs
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with various unknowns
