If you live and breathe data and love building clarity out of chaos, this is your role. You won't be one cog in a 15-person data team, you'll own the full data lifecycle end-to-end, from raw extraction to compelling, insightful dashboards that drive key decisions for our clients.
At Swans, we are assembling a team of "Avengers": analytical problem-solvers who walk into organizations, uncover the data blind spots killing their growth, then design and deploy the systems that turn guesswork into a competitive edge.
About Swans
Our Company: We are a fast-moving consulting & implementation agency that improves the way US law firms use technology to deliver better services to their clients.
Our Team: We're currently an international team of 10 and expect to grow to 30+ in the next 12 months.
Our Culture: We are energetic, no-BS, intense, results-oriented, and driven to change our industry forever.
What you'll actually do
Our clients are making high-stakes decisions in the dark. You will change that. Your job is to take fragmented, messy data, spread across disconnected tools and systems, and turn it into a single source of operational truth.
You will own the full data lifecycle: from extraction and cleaning, through transformation and modeling, to compelling dashboards that surface the insights leaders actually act on. You won't hand off steps to other people, you'll own the pipeline start to finish and deliver clarity that drives real decisions.
You'll also layer in automation and AI where they make the data smarter, fresher, and less dependent on manual effort. If there's a better way to do it, you'll find it.
Day in the lifeYou're embedded in multiple client engagements at a time, owning the data function end-to-end. You'll identify what data matters, figure out how to get it, clean and structure it, and deliver dashboards and insights that give decision-makers a clear picture of what's happening in their business and what to do about it.
You're not just a report-builder. You're a strategic data partner who can take a business problem, trace it back to the data, and come back with something that changes how leadership operates.
Why this changes everything for you
If you're a high-performer frustrated by corporate bureaucracy, endless approvals, and career ladders based on tenure, this is your off-ramp. We are an anti-bureaucratic team for ambitious professionals who want their impact measured by results, not by time-in-seat.
If you've been the "only data person" at a company and loved the ownership but lacked the opportunity - this is your upgrade. You get the same end-to-end ownership, plus an elite team backing you up.
What we need
Full data lifecycle ownership: You have personally owned the complete pipeline: extraction, cleaning, transformation, modeling, and visualization. You haven't specialized in just one layer.
Builder mentality: You don't wait for a data engineer to set up the pipeline. You build it, own it, and fix it.
Analytical clarity: You don't just surface numbers; you translate data into insights that non-technical stakeholders can act on. You ask the right questions before you write a single query.
Autonomy: You can identify what data is needed, figure out how to get it, and deliver the answer without being micromanaged.
Curiosity: You stay sharp on new tools, automation approaches, and AI capabilities and apply them practically.
Communication skills: You can present findings clearly to a non-technical audience. Client-facing experience is a plus, not a requirement.
Professional English fluency: B2 level at a minimum.
Ideal background
2–5 years of experience in a BI, data analyst, or analytics engineering role
Background in any industry is welcome we don't require domain expertise. That said, experience in professional services, consulting, or agencies (rather than purely product/SaaS) is a strong plus, as is prior client-facing experience
Ideally from a company of 50–200 people where you wore multiple hats, rather than one function in a large data org
Proven ownership of the full data lifecycle not one slice of a large team's pipeline
Experience extracting and working with data from multiple systems APIs, native exports, CRM and PM tool data pulls, etc.
Experience with CRM and PM platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp, Airtable) as data sources
Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g. Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, Metabase)
Experience with data infrastructure (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, or similar)
Experience with automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, n8n) to streamline data workflows
Exposure to AI/GenAI applied to data workflows (e.g. AI-assisted data cleaning, summarization, anomaly detection)
Comfort working with REST APIs for data extraction and integration
Note: We don't expect candidates to have ALL of the above. We care far more about proven ownership and problem-solving than a perfect tool checklist.
Portfolio or work samples preferred show us a dashboard you built, a pipeline you designed, or a data project that drove a real business outcome.
This role will NOT be a fit if
You've spent your career as a specialist in one part of the data stack and haven't owned the full process end-to-end
You've only worked in large data teams where extraction, cleaning, modeling, and visualization were handled by different people
You want to focus purely on analysis without getting into the engineering and tooling that makes it possible
You're looking for a "chill" 40-hour job environment, this role is intense and you'll be pushed daily
You prefer to be assessed on inputs, this role requires you to own your outputs and your clients' results
You need a structured, predictable corporate environment, priorities can shift quickly and we have zero tolerance for bureaucracy or office politics
Location & schedule
Fully Remote, with quarterly in-person meetups in locations chosen by popular team vote (potential lineup: USA, Tokyo, Dubai, Bangkok)
Flexible schedule, but availability required for client meetings Mon–Fri, morning US hours (afternoon–evening Eastern European Time)
We operate in focused 4-week sprints with clear goals and success metrics. You'll own concrete outcomes every sprint, data pipelines live, dashboards deployed, insights delivered.
Compensation
Competitive salary
Performance-based bonus & promotion path
Flexible benefits
Career-defining growth investment: we spent over $200,000 on team development last year, executive coaching, certifications, and training that accelerates your career beyond any traditional path
Our Mission
The legal industry is broken, outdated, overpriced, and structurally rigged against innovation and access. Today, 92% of low-income households can't afford legal help, and meaningful reform is blocked by laws that prohibit non-lawyers from owning or operating law firms.
Our mission is to change that. By equipping law firms with cutting-edge tech and world-class operations, we will push the industry 10 years forward delivering faster, better, and more affordable legal services at scale.

Radical Integrity: "We choose transparency, honesty, and accountability, not for virtue's sake, but because trust is the only way our work succeeds."
Sincere Care: "We care enough to anticipate needs and act with empathy and intention, because genuine connection drives everything we build."
Our standards are high historically, less than 0.5% of candidates possess the rare combination of technical aptitude, client-facing skills, and cultural alignment we require.
