About the Role

Maleda Tech is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the revenue operations team of a fast-growing consumer services business. This role is central to shaping how the team measures, manages, and accelerates performance. You'll build core dashboards and data frameworks that enable the team to operate with clarity, speed, and confidence - and your insights will directly inform strategic decisions and help define how the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Measurement

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards that track business performance.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs that provide real-time visibility into business health and funnel performance.
  • Analyze funnel conversion rates, drop-off points, and program effectiveness, making recommendations to improve impact and efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify the right metrics and reporting for pilots and new initiatives.

Strategic Insights

  • Synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Deliver concise, data-backed narratives that frame opportunities, challenges, and outcomes - going beyond reporting to recommend and drive specific actions.

Data Infrastructure & Automation

  • Own SQL-based querying, data wrangling, and transformations for complex datasets.
  • Streamline and automate recurring reporting to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
  • Partner with engineering and data science teams as needed to resolve data quality or access issues.

Qualifications

Required

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming large datasets.
  • Experience navigating complex data infrastructure.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Superset).
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, querying, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights in writing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Proven ability to distill complex analyses for non-technical, senior stakeholders.
  • Track record of turning findings into concrete recommendations that drove measurable outcomes - not just building and maintaining reports.

Preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in business analytics, data, business operations, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth environment, multi-sided marketplace, or platform business.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where speed and clarity matter.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Data, Economics, or a related field.

Note on Scope
This is a business intelligence and analytics role focused on dashboards, KPIs, and actionable reporting - not a data science or ML modeling position. Deep machine learning or predictive modeling experience is not required.

Key Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Contract through August 2028 (approx. 2 years)
  • Location: Remote (within the U.S.)
  • Schedule: Full-time - 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
  • Pay Rate: $75 - $89/hour + benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Engagement: W2 contract role through Maleda Tech.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
