Job Summary:             

Elysian Hospice is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Specialist (BDS) to lead growth and referral development in the hospice setting. In this role, you will be responsible for building strong partnerships with referral sources, developing strategic marketing initiatives, and driving patient admissions. This is a high-impact, field-based role ideal for someone with hospice experience who understands the importance of compassionate care and can effectively position hospice services within the community.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of hospice business development experience in a local market
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding admission and census growth goals
  • Strong understanding of hospice, home health, and post-acute referral sources including hospitals, SNFs, physician offices, and community partners
  • Experience developing and executing sales and marketing strategies within a defined territory
  • Ability to build and maintain strong referral relationships and partnerships
  • Experience identifying market trends and growth opportunities
  • History of training, coaching, or mentoring business development staff preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lead tracking or CRM systems
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to drive hospice admissions and census growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources including hospitals, physicians, SNFs, and community organizations
  • Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and in-services to promote hospice services and educate referral partners
  • Identify and capitalize on market opportunities and referral trends within the assigned territory
  • Maintain and grow patient census and quality mix in alignment with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with leadership to support growth strategies and market expansion initiatives
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of marketing materials, campaigns, and outreach efforts
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of business development team members
  • Partner with clinical and operational teams to ensure smooth referral-to-admission conversion
  • Monitor and manage lead tracking systems, referral pipelines, and conversion ratios
  • Provide regular updates on market activity, referral trends, and performance metrics
  • Represent Elysian Hospice professionally within the community and healthcare networks
