About Us

rePurpose Global is a VC-backed tech startup dedicated to driving sustainable innovation in the packaging industry. Our new B2B software platform helps consumer brands navigate complex packaging regulations, make smarter packaging sustainability decisions, leverage packaging data for business growth, and ensure compliance with evolving global standards. We're building powerful new features to empower customers with actionable insights and streamlined processes.

About the Role

As a rapidly growing social enterprise, rePurpose Global is looking for a curious, relentless, and driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our high-performing Sales team. In this role, you’ll own top-of-funnel pipeline generation by engaging inbound and outbound prospects, identifying brands that can benefit from our platform, and creating opportunities through thoughtful, high-activity outreach. You’ll leverage phone, email, LinkedIn, and research-driven prospecting to connect with decision-makers, test and refine messaging, and build a qualified pipeline in a fast-paced startup environment.

We’re looking for someone with strong communication skills, exceptional organization, and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset who thrives in ambiguity, embraces coaching, and is excited to contribute ideas that improve both team performance and process. If you’re energized by solving problems, learning quickly, and helping shape the future of sustainable packaging technology, we’d love to meet you.

This position is remote, but we prefer candidates located in New York or on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own top-of-funnel pipeline generation by managing both inbound and outbound lead engagement through consistent, high-activity outreach in a fast-paced environment.

  • Manage inbound MQL follow-up, responding within defined SLAs, and prioritize leads based on engagement and intent.

  • Execute outbound prospecting to generate qualified pipeline through targeted research and proactive outreach, identify producers who would be liable for EPR, and would value the rePurpose Platform.

  • Develop, test, and iterate messaging across multiple channels (phone, email, and LinkedIn, including cold calls) and to multiple industries and personas.

  • Maintain strong CRM hygiene (HubSpot) with accurate notes, data, activity tracking, and clear next steps. Pull data from ZoomInfo and ensure it enters the CRM correctly.

  • Contribute learnings and best practices to the Outbound process and the rest of the team, to support the success of your peers.

  • Represent rePurpose Global at industry conferences and events, sourcing and qualifying new leads, and contributing directly to pipeline generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Communications, Marketing, Business, and 1-3 years of SaaS/Start Up experience in a Sales function(Inclusive of internship experience)

  • Proven track record in generating qualified leads through a mix of inbound follow-up and outbound prospecting, using cold calling, LinkedIn, and email.

  • Clear, confident communicator across email and phone with the ability to build quick rapport.

  • Highly organized and disciplined in prioritizing outreach, follow-ups, and tasks to keep the pipeline moving.

  • Initiative & Drive: Self-motivated, proactive, and hungry with a strong desire to excel

  • Comfortable in fast-changing environments; adjusts messaging, approach, and cadence based on what’s working. Experience in a startup environment is preferred, but not required.

  • Willing to build your skills through dedication, effort, and learning as you go, reframing perceived failures as opportunities to grow.

Why Join Us?
  • Impact-Driven Work: Help businesses reduce their environmental footprint and take action on the packaging waste crisis.

  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside passionate experts dedicated to driving sustainable change.

  • Growth Opportunities: As we expand our platform, you'll play a key role in shaping our vision and strategy.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
