Business Development Representative

About the Role
Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a dynamic, fast-growing technology environment? As a Business Development Representative at Ingram Micro, you will play a critical role in driving growth and success for our customers and vendors. Leveraging our Xvantage platform, you will help deliver impactful solutions, ranging from recruitment, training, and enablement to end-customer acquisition, pipeline development, and cross-sell initiatives.

As a trusted subject matter expert, you will collaborate closely with sales teams, vendors, and customers, providing insights, technical expertise, and exceptional service. Your deep understanding of the customer and product category, combined with strong communication skills, will enable you to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and contribute directly to business growth.

This role specifically is for a new member of our Ignite team. Ingram Micro’s Ignite program is a first-of-its-kind solution in the channel - designed to streamline carrier activation programs and help partners fully leverage carrier resources, activating cellular-embedded hardware and earning commission in an accurate and timely fashion.

Ignite reduces the time and steps required for device activation so partners can focus on what matters most - growing their business. By partnering with Ingram Micro Ignite, resellers and VARs can become a one-stop shop for their end customers, offering connected solution options that eliminate extra steps and have proven to increase recurring revenue.

The Ignite team works across an extensive portfolio of mobility solutions - from enterprise and consumer mobile devices to rugged hardware, MDM, and accessories - backed by the scale, relationships, and resources of Ingram Micro's global distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize Xvantage Platform: Drive adoption and insights for reseller partners and vendors to uncover growth opportunities.

  • Enable Solutions: Build customer/vendor portfolios, develop sales materials, and deliver training to ensure effective solution adoption.

  • Support Sales: Partner with sales teams on customer needs, product demonstrations, and proposals to secure new business.

  • Engage Customers: Understand customer challenges, provide tailored solutions, and build strong, long-term relationships.

  • Manage Vendor Relations: Stay informed on product updates and leverage vendor partnerships to deliver maximum value.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently driving growth and adoption across your customer and vendor portfolio.

  • Building trusted relationships and serving as a go-to resource for customers and vendors.

  • Proactively identifying opportunities to increase revenue, margin, and platform utilization.

  • Taking ownership and delivering results with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable with a customer-first mindset.

  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and vendor partners.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

  • Experience in a sales or solutions role within the technology industry is preferred.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a four-year college degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of functional experience in a related role.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $49,500.00 - $79,200.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives. These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance. U.S.-based employees have access to healthcare benefits, paid time off, parental leave, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
