Build your future with Sovos.

If you're seeking a career where innovation meets impact, you've come to the right place. As a global leader, Sovos is transforming tax compliance from a business requirement to a force for growth while revolutionizing how businesses navigate the ever-changing regulatory landscape.

At Sovos, we're dedicated to more than just solving compliance challenges -- we're committed to making a positive and lasting difference in everything we do. Our teams operate on the modern edge of digital technology, working not only to solve complex business challenges but also to enrich our personal, professional, and local communities.

Our purpose-built systems provide the tools you need to thrive in a world where governments demand increased visibility, faster reporting and greater control over business processes. Excited about the possibilities? So are we!

Don’t worry if you don’t check all the boxes — apply anyway! We’re focused on hiring the right people, not just the “right” resume. It’s not about what you’ve done elsewhere; it’s all about what you’re capable of doing here.

The Work You’ll Do:

At Sovos, we’re on a mission to make tax compliance smarter, faster, and more seamless for businesses around the globe. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be at the heart of that mission — building pipeline, opening doors, and connecting the right companies to solutions they genuinely need. This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to dial and smile. It’s for someone who is curious, strategic, and energized by turning prospects into conversations and conversations into opportunities.

You’ll work hand-in-hand with Account Executives, Marketing, and Enablement to drive consistent meeting volume and pipeline growth — using a modern, multi-channel approach and real account intelligence to target the right people at the right time.

More specifically, you will:

•       Generate qualified meetings and pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up.

•       Convert outbound, inbound, and marketing-generated leads to qualified meetings and sales opportunities through timely follow-up and effective discovery.

•       Maintain a high standard for meeting quality — right persona, right account, clear problem statement, documented context.

•       Partner with Sales Executives to execute territory plans and target account lists.

•       Prioritize outreach using ideal customer profile criteria, segmentation, intent signals, and engagement data.

•       Support focused outbound campaigns including vertical plays, new initiatives, and compliance deadline-driven outreach.

•       Execute daily outreach using phone, email, LinkedIn/social, and other approved channels.

•       Personalize messaging using account research and relevant triggers.

•       Track outreach, outcomes, and next steps in CRM and sales engagement tools.

•       Meet monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings held, sales-accepted meetings, and BDR-sourced pipeline.

•       Maintain accurate CRM documentation and execute clean handoffs to Sales.

What We Need From You

•       1+ years in sales development, inside sales, or a similar quota-carrying role; B2B experience preferred.

•       Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and book meetings in a structured cadence.

•       Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort working in a metrics-driven environment.

•       Experience with CRM and common sales tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft/Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and intent/data tools.

•       Ability to operate with increasing autonomy and a focus on continuous improvement in messaging, targeting, and conversion.

•       Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire.

What Does Sovos Offer You?

The tools to enhance your life - because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work and inside!

•       Flexible Time-Off

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
