About the Role:

ShopMy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Development Representative (BDR), Strategic Creators. The successful candidate will play a critical role in growing ShopMy’s network of top creators — those with the greatest potential to drive GMV and brand equity on the platform. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging high-potential creators, managing outbound outreach, and booking qualified meetings with our Strategic Creators team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys outreach and relationship building, and wants to make a tangible impact on ShopMy’s creator growth.

Your Impact to the Role:
  • Research and identify high-potential creators across target categories with strong GMV and brand equity potential.
  • Build and manage a structured outreach pipeline to ensure consistent top-of-funnel activity.
  • Execute personalized outbound campaigns (email, social, DM, event follow-ups) to drive qualified creator meetings.
  • Craft tailored pitches that highlight ShopMy’s value proposition, brand partnerships, and earning opportunities.
  • Manage all scheduling and logistics for intro calls and demos, ensuring a seamless handoff to the Strategic Creators team.
  • Track outreach metrics including volume, response rate, and meeting conversion to optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in CRM systems and outreach tracking tools.
  • Partner with Creator Experience and Creator Growth to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing engagement for strategic creators.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to leverage campaigns and events as lead-generation opportunities.
  • Share feedback and insights from creator conversations to help refine outreach messaging and targeting.
You Are Energized By:
  • Metrics, goals, and the thrill of exceeding them — you're competitive, persistent, and motivated by results
  • Driving outbound sales — you love the process of researching, prospecting, and crafting compelling outreach
  • Staying organized and efficient in your follow-up and pipeline management

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in outbound sales, partnerships, or creator/influencer marketing preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident reaching out to creators and agents across channels
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to turn performance metrics into actionable improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging with creators and agencies at all levels
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach, able to balance execution with process building and iteration
  • Genuine passion for the creator economy and helping creators succeed
  • Proficiency in SalesForce, Google Suite, Excel, and CRM systems; familiarity with BI tools or Outreach a plus

Bonus Points:

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
