About the BDR Role at Literati

As a Business Development Representative focused on bringing exceptional book fairs to schools, you'll be at the heart of our mission to introduce Literati Book Fairs to elementary schools. In this pivotal role, you'll partner with schools to enhance their fundraising efforts while championing the transformative power of reading and literacy for children. This role is responsible for achieving quarterly/annual fair count and market penetration goals.

Your primary responsibility will be connecting with schools through strategic outbound calling, nurturing inbound leads via phone and email, and ultimately securing multiple seasons of scheduled book fair events. This sales-driven position centers on building meaningful relationships with educators and administrators who share our passion for student success.

The ideal candidate brings genuine enthusiasm for promoting literacy in schools, coupled with a strong background in sales and territory management abilities, and exceptional motivation. We're looking for someone with a collaborative mindset and an upbeat, engaging personality who thrives in a goal-oriented environment.

This role may have opportunities to represent Literati Book Fairs at trade shows and conferences, sharing our story and expanding our reach within the education community. Success in this role means consistently achieving monthly, seasonal, and annual targets while strategically scheduling events to maximize impact. Starting rate $22.67/hour

Responsibilities

  • Achieve quarterly/annual book fair booking quotas and territory growth goals

  • Execute strategic outbound calling campaigns

  • Drive territory market penetration and growth

  • Develop and implement comprehensive territory plans

  • Deliver compelling district and school presentations

  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation

  • Compete effectively in the marketplace

What We Look For

  • Minimum 3+ years of account or territory management experience

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

  • Successful outbound cold calling background

  • Consistent history of meeting or exceeding sales targets

  • Experience working with educational institutions is preferred

  • Mac computer proficiency is advantageous

  • Reliable high-speed home internet connection required
