Under the direction of the National Sales Director, the Business Development Manager is responsible for managing the Business Development Associates, Business Developers and Senior Business Developers across the Firm; growing Wipfli's professional services sales into its target client segments and identifying and providing leads to the Firm's industry resources as appropriate. Essential Responsibilities:
- Assists in the success of his/her direct reports; manages direct reports in identifying target lists, driving opportunities through sales process from lead generation/lead qualification to close according to Wipfli's Sales Methodology.
- Assists in coordinating the collaboration between business developers and professionals during the sales process including guidance of the Opportunity Pursuit Team.
- Serves as a role model for his/her team in integrating with the industry/geography groups of professionals to establish productive working relationships.
- Previous sales/business development and financial services industry experience required, including experience selling into banks, fintechs, payment providers and more
- Has direct s responsibility for the sales staff directly reporting to him/.
- Responsible for reaching a personal bookings target through origination of their own leads while adhering to the Wipfli Sales Methodology.
- Has demonstrated ability to translate a growth/marketing plan into sales tactics within the context of the firm's growth strategy.
- Understands and conforms to reporting guidelines including, but not limited to forecasting and pipeline reporting.
- Leverage modern revenue/sales technology and systems to help the team achieve/exceed bookings targets.
- Drives the growth culture in the Firm.
- Expected to understand and sell the full suite of Wipfli Services based on the needs of the client.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years' experience in professional sales using a solution-oriented, consultative approach that uncovers broad business and strategic issues with at least 5 years in a professional services environment.
- Track record of individual and team bookings attainment that meets and exceeds sales goals.
- Experience selling into banks, credit unions, fintechs, and payment providers.
- Previous successful experience in managing Business Development teams selling a suite of offerings.
- Experience with client accounts of $10M to $1B in revenue.
- Exhibit strong technical product knowledge of Wipfli's core services including assurance, tax, and consulting services.
- Active network of relevant C-suite contacts in focus industry.
- Demonstrated success in securing net new logo's through their and prospecting activity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration.
- Active business community involvement.
- Experience in a Big-Four (or equivalent) professional/financial services firm.
