Business Development Manager

Field Based – National Travel

Permanent

Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

£44,400 - £52,700 + commission + car + fantastic benefits

The Business Development Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of larger SME customers, with growth and renewal targets. Working alongside key stakeholders to ensure the continual development and growth of the portfolio for PMI, Cashplan, Dental and Well+ products.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • To sell across the Bupa product range, including Speciality & Health Clinic products
  • To clearly and concisely articulate Bupa’s value proposition in the market
  • Develop new and existing relationships and increase business direct with clients.
  • Develop a clear and commercially focussed sales value pipeline focussing on growth in line with our strategy to deliver AOP and ensure profitable relationships for UK Insurance
  • Provide delivery of staff presentations to the workforce of groups new and existing to Bupa
  • Work to agreed key performance and productivity measures, meeting and exceeding these targets ensuring distribution activities are of sufficient quality, satisfy customer needs meet regulatory standards, fall within risk appetite and always deliver fair customer outcomes.
  • Continually identify opportunities to strengthen and optimise processes aligned to the customer journey.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance adheres to Bupa’s Corporate and UK policies, and to internal operating procedures, ensuring that risk is managed in line within Bupa’s UK’s risk appetite. This includes considering the needs of vulnerable customers, and putting in place appropriate processes to meet their needs.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Motivation to get out and visit clients
  • Significant experience and proven ability to lead and manage sales
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining strong, long lasting customer relationships and maximising business opportunities.
  • Strong determined communicator and negotiator with experience of senior level selling, persuasion and negotiation
  • In depth knowledge of successfully increasing revenue, profits and growth within market regulated environment such as the healthcare market.
  • Track record of ‘treating customers fairly’ and delivering compliant sales within a regulatory environment is key.
  • Acts ethically and honestly in all dealing with customers and colleagues building compliance, authenticity and trust
