Who We Are

adMarketplace is the largest global marketplace for Native Search advertising. For over 25 years, we’ve connected brands with consumers at the moment they express commercial intent beyond legacy search engines.
Today, our Native Search solutions are exclusively integrated across next-generation platforms where discovery happens, including web browsers, Buy Now Pay Later apps, and AI chat surfaces. Powered by vector search technology, our platform delivers relevant text and product ads that match consumers with the brands, products, and offers they’re actively seeking.
Our award-winning culture is grounded in the principles of Curiosity, Collaboration, Creative Conflict, Commitment, and Competitiveness – our 5Cs. These values drive us to turn complexity into clarity and create measurable value for consumers, advertisers, and publishers alike.

The Role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to build and close new partnerships across AI, search, and commerce at adMarketplace. You’ll work with AI-native companies, technology platforms, and emerging digital experiences to develop new use cases, build relationships with technical and commercial stakeholders, and bring partnerships from initial conversation through launch.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is commercially driven, technically curious, and excited to build in an evolving market.

What You’ll Do:
  • Build and own a pipeline of new partnership opportunities across AI platforms, search and discovery products, commerce ecosystems, shopping experiences, and emerging technology companies.

  • Proactively identify and engage prospective partners, developing relationships across business, product, engineering, and leadership teams.

  • Own opportunities through the full business development cycle - from prospecting and discovery through solution development, commercial negotiation, contracting, integration, and launch.

  • Develop a deep understanding of prospective partners’ products, users, business models, and technical environments to identify where adMarketplace can create value.

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to develop solutions for new partners, evaluate technical requirements, and bring new integrations and use cases to market.

  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities and communicate effectively with both commercial and technical audiences.

  • Negotiate commercial agreements and develop deal structures that create value for both adMarketplace and its partners.

  • Identify new applications for adMarketplace’s technology as AI changes how consumers search, discover, and transact online.

  • Develop and grow existing partnerships by identifying new use cases, integrations, and opportunities for expansion.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or another commercial role within SaaS, AI, technology, search, commerce, digital media, or adtech.

  • Proven experience generating new business and owning opportunities from initial outreach through negotiation and close.

  • Experience selling or developing partnerships around technical products, platforms, APIs, SaaS products, or other technology solutions.

  • Comfortable engaging with Product, Engineering, and other technical stakeholders and translating technical capabilities into commercial value.

  • Experience navigating complex sales or partnership cycles involving multiple stakeholders and customized solutions.

  • Strong commercial judgment with experience negotiating agreements and developing deal structures.

  • Strong interest in AI and the evolving LLM, search, discovery, and commerce ecosystem, with the curiosity to continuously learn as the market develops.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and developing opportunities where the use case, commercial model, or path to market may still be emerging.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders from individual contributors through senior executives.

  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems, and getting deals done.

*Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000 + Commission & Equity

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
