Business Development Manager, Tools & Services

At Nextpower, we are leading the energy transition, providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and control software solutions for solar power plants, as well as strategic services to capture the full value of solar power plants for our customers.

The Nextpower Business Development Manager, Tools & Services, will be based in Fremont, CA, San Rafael, CA, or Remote. The Business Development Manager, Services, is a commercial leader responsible for accelerating growth within Nextpower’s tracker tools and services portfolio. This role owns sales growth, market expansion strategy, and builds customer relationships across the utility-scale solar industry. You will lead sales cycles from opportunity creation through contract execution, partnering cross-functionally to bring new offerings to market and deliver measurable customer value.

What You’ll Do

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute global growth strategies for Nextpower’s tools and services portfolio

  • Drive and close new business opportunities

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, solution development, pricing strategy, negotiation, and closure

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximize revenue growth.

  • Collaborate with Nextpower's global account management team to identify value-add opportunities for tool and services solutions.

Customer & Market Leadership  

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers

  • Translate customer operational challenges into differentiated service and tools solutions

  • Represent Nextpower at industry events and conferences to elevate brand visibility and thought leadership

  • Maintain strong market intelligence on industry trends, competitive positioning, and emerging customer needs

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with regional sales, supply chain, operations, product, and project management teams to ensure successful solution delivery

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define new service offerings, pricing models, and scalable commercial processes

  • Support internal alignment between commercial strategy and operational execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in a sales or business development role within a global company

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Ability to execute and manage multiple tasks in parallel

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems

  • Experience utilizing CRM (Salesforce preferred) and ERP (Netsuite preferred) systems

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in renewable energy, utility-scale solar, or adjacent industries

  • Commercial or technical experience with O&M and Asset Management Services

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is 115,000.00 to 130,000.00 plus a commission structure based on commission calculation, such as percentage of sales or specific metrics. (Applicable to California)
