About the Starknet Foundation

It’s time for the digital world to be reinvented. We’re here to make sure it happens.
The Starknet Foundation stewards the growth of Starknet, a cutting-edge Layer 2 blockchain built on Ethereum. Our mission is to scale Ethereum and Bitcoin without compromising security or decentralization, making powerful, efficient decentralized applications accessible to all.

Now is an incredible time to join Starknet. The ecosystem is expanding - developer activity is growing, transformative projects are launching, and the technology is proving its strength. With plans underway for Starknet to settle on Bitcoin, we’re entering an exciting new phase of cross-chain scalability and innovation. This is a rare chance to get in on the ground floor of a new era for Bitcoin - where your contributions can help chart the course of a transformative new frontier. We’re not just building technology - we’re reimagining what the digital world could be if it was built with integrity. The Starknet Foundation is home to a world-class team of builders, researchers, and community leaders, all working to create a more open, fair, and decentralized future. At the Foundation, you’ll collaborate with a close-knit team of driven, creative, and unconventional minds to make this vision a reality.

Have what it takes to reinvent the digital world?
If you’re ready to challenge assumptions, embrace first principles, and help bring fairness, creativity, and opportunity to the digital world, we’d love to work with you.

Starknet technology is developed by Starkware and is nurtured by the independent Starknet Foundation - two separate teams driving the network forward together. Learn more here.

About the Role
This job post is part of an ongoing effort to connect with outstanding individuals who may be a strong match for current or future BD needs at Starknet Foundation. This role reflects an area of strategic priority and developing need, and we’re open to engaging with outstanding candidates whose experience and ambitions align with where we’re heading. Specifically, we are interested in hearing from Business Development professionals with experience and relationships in the Bitcoin, payments, and DeFi domains, as well as strong familiarity with Starknet/ZK technology. If you are a strategic operator with a deep network in crypto and a track record of closing high-impact deals, we’d love to get to know you.

What We Look For
○ Strategic partnership operators who can take deals from idea to execution - and manage them for long-term success.
○ Growth catalysts with a sharp eye for opportunity in verticals like payments, DeFi, and Bitcoin - and the network to act on it.
○ Relationship-builders fluent in the language of founders, investors, and ecosystem teams.
○ Analysts who can spot trends, synthesize market signals, and translate them into actionable priorities.
○ Collaborators who work cross-functionally with internal/external/Labs-side teams to unlock value at every stage of the partner journey.
○ Ambassadors who know how to represent Starknet Foundation on the global stage - at conferences, events, and in 1:1 founder conversations.

Why You Might Be a Fit
○ You have a track record in business development, partnerships, or ecosystem growth - specifically in crypto or frontier tech.
○ You understand the nuance of web3, and can navigate complex ecosystems across segments like payments, DeFi, and Bitcoin.
○ You thrive in high-context, multi-threaded environments - juggling deal flow, partner asks, and ecosystem strategy with clarity and speed.
○ You’re highly networked, deeply curious, and motivated by outcomes not optics.
○ You’re a clear communicator, confident negotiator, and creative problem-solver who enjoys unlocking win-wins.

Sound Like You?
We may not have a formal BD opening live right now, but we’re always looking to connect with outstanding people. If you’re ready to help bring Starknet to the world - one founder, protocol, or partnership at a time - we’d love to hear from you or meet you at a conference. Submit an app and tell us a little about yourself, and we'll stay in touch.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
