Role & ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will work directly with our cofounder & COO to actively drive growth and shape our product roadmap. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, highly strategic Business Developement Lead, Fintech to drive adoption of SOCKET & Bungee across global fintech companies. You’ll be responsible for identifying, closing, and scaling high-impact partnerships with the largest fintechs in the world.
This is a high-impact role that requires a mix of strategic thinking, sales execution, and operational excellence. You will represent SOCKET in one of the most dynamic markets, acting as both a relationship builder and a business operator.
The working environment is fast paced with plenty of ambiguity, change, and odd hours. You have to be okay with that as we continue to grow as a team.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute strategy
- Define and execute SOCKET’s strategy for fintech
- Identify high-leverage market entry points (e.g., stablecoin corridors, payment use cases, B2B/B2C rails)
- Build compelling narratives around protocol features tailored to fintech decision-makers
- Own deals end-to-end
- Identify, pitch, and close high-impact integrations with top crypto & fintech companies.
- Own the full sales cycle - from discovery and demos to deal closure.
- Build product alignment
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and integration teams to ensure successful integration and onboarding
- Channel market feedback to influence roadmap decisions (e.g., chains support, compliance features, API requirements)
- Lead externally
- Represent SOCKET at industry events, fintech conferences, and global forums
- Build thought leadership on programmable money and the future of payments infrastructure
- Build and maintain strong relationships with ecosystem players (chains, wallets, stablecoin issuers, stablecoin-as-a-service providers etc.)
- Iterate & Scale
- Experiment with strategies, tactics, and tools to identify what works and iterate to find scalable success
- Have **5+ years** experience in BD or Sales within Payments and Fintech verticals
- Have a proven track record of closing and scaling complex deals with fintech clients
- Have deep understanding of fintech infrastructure: wallets, custody, card issuing, stablecoins, compliance tooling, and developer platforms
- Are comfortable having conversations with external stakeholders across levels: founders & c-level stakeholders, product & growth managers etc.
- Are a sharp strategic thinker who can map fragmented fintech value chains and craft compelling BD theses
- Are a high agency operator who can build 0→1 partnerships, GTM strategies, and partner programs with minimal oversight
- Are comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving, frontier market and iterating quickly based on learnings
- Are curious, have low ego, and always looking to improve. You’re open to feedback and collaborating with others to get to the best approach.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage multi-functional stakeholders
