Business Development Executive - Lead Generation & Outreach Focus

Stockhouse is a leading North American media organization known for providing high-quality investment information and content specific to the North American market.
We are currently looking for a Business Development Executive who thrives on cold outreach, lead generation, and relentless pursuit of new business. If you’re a true hunter with the grit to grind through the noise, pick up the phone, and close with confidence - this role is for you.
You’ll be part of a fast-paced, growth-focused team where you'll leverage your skills, intuition, and modern tools - including AI-powered prospecting and automation platforms - to identify opportunities and build a strong pipeline from scratch. Your drive, creativity, and persistence will be key to expanding our client base and scaling revenue.
Accountabilities:
- Relentlessly prospect, cold call, and cold email to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Use AI tools and tech stacks to accelerate research, personalize outreach, and optimize pipeline management.
- Consistently generate high-quality leads and set meetings through outbound campaigns (phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Act as a front-line hunter - uncovering decision-makers and breaking through gatekeepers.
- Collaborate with the senior sales team to tailor pitch strategies and convert warm leads into loyal clients.
- Build strong relationships with C-level executives and key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to uncover trends and competitive insights.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activity in Salesforce CRM to track progress and optimize performance.
- Attend industry events and networking opportunities to expand presence and open doors.
Qualifications:
- Proven outbound sales experience - you’re not afraid to make 50+ calls a day or send 100+ targeted emails.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with persuasive storytelling ability.
- Familiarity with sales tech tools including CRMs (Salesforce), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and AI prospecting platforms (e.g., Apollo, Clay, ChatGPT, Lavender, etc.).
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure - you push through setbacks.
- Experience in media, finance, or B2B sales is a plus.
- Willing to travel occasionally for events or client meetings.
