What You’ll Do

The Business Development Summer Intern (June-August) will be trained in the nuts and bolts of the brand licensing business. You'll be mentored by experienced internal leaders who will advise and help you succeed and develop exceptional business acumen. You will be trained and assist in generating new business by identifying and qualifying leads to join Authentic's global network of licensing partners in the wholesale, retail, and online marketplace sectors. From identifying target licensing partners and executing top-notch qualification tactics, you will gain 360-degree knowledge of expanding Authentic's partnership universe. 

 

What you’ll be working on

  • Create binders for team with updated brand summaries to be used in pitching
  • Update BD teams brand overviews
  • Lead generation & ideate new verticals/categories
  • Effectively use a CRM: salesforce entries, maintain teams google docs/trackers
  • Liaise between BD & brand teams, coordinate meetings & requests, manage priorities
  • Assist team in contract negotiations with issues lists, comps, term sheets, CS&EA's
  • Issues Lists: how to summarize redlines
  • Comps: help team make informed decisions with counterproposals
  • Term Sheets/CSEAs: familiarize self with licensing agreements
  • Successful pitching by listening in on team's meetings
  • Lifecycle of a deal from outreach to full execution


Must Haves

  • Currently enrolled university student.
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and make things happen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortability in a high-paced, collaborative environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite
  • Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex tasks
  • Can work up to 20 hours
  • Can work in the LA office 2-3 days

Primary Location Salary Range:

The hourly rate for an undergraduate student intern in New York is $18
The hourly rate for a graduate student intern in New York is $22
