About the Role

As a Business Development Associate (BDA) at AKASA, you’ll report to the Director of Commercial Operations and play a key role in driving growth by generating, qualifying, and nurturing top-of-funnel opportunities. Through a blend of outbound prospecting and inbound engagement, you’ll turn interest into quality conversations for the sales team, track and advance pipeline activities, and help move opportunities towards closing, directly contributing to AKASA’s revenue growth.

What You'll Do

  • Scrub target market accounts for qualified contacts and research relevant market developments to tailor messaging.

  • Strategize with marketing and sales teams to coordinate cold outreach and follow-up efforts with marketing campaigns and personal networks to maximize conversion rates.

  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns, events, or inbound web inquiries to qualify and progress them through the sales funnel.

  • Secure net new initial commercial meetings for Sales Directors by conducting cold calls and sending personalized follow-up emails.

  • Attend select industry events and trade shows to support company Marketing strategy by generating leads and building relationships with prospects.

  • Enter, update, and maintain prospect and customer information, outreach efforts, sales activities, and leads in Salesforce CRM system.

  • Monitor marketing lead workqueues and evaluate qualified leads for commercial viability; surface operational bugs and inefficiencies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales, business development, or similar client-facing role

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Adaptable, professional, and motivated with a strong work ethic

  • Interest in making a big impact and growing your career in a high-growth startup

  • Interest in or some knowledge of B2B SaaS sales

Compensation

  • Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 + Equity. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
