Description
As a Business Development (BD) Associate, you will play a crucial role in identifying and contributing to the success of new business opportunities, building and maintaining client and partner relationships, and contributing to the growth and expansion of CTG. You will work closely with the Director of Growth and BD team to develop and implement strategies for acquiring new clients, expanding our market reach, overseeing capture activities, and actively managing and directly contributing to proposal activities.
Responsibilities
- Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Management
- Conduct research to identify potential clients and market trends to target for business development opportunities.
- Monitor and qualify new business opportunities through SAM.gov, GovWin, and other acquisition platforms.
- Maintain and update BD pipeline in CRM.
- Capture Support
- Support capture planning activities including competitive analysis, teaming strategy, and win theme development.
- Assist with stakeholder research, contact management, and market intelligence gathering.
- Proposal Coordination
- Coordinate proposal activities, including drafting compliance matrices, managing deadlines, and supporting technical and past performance volume development.
- Track and manage RFIs, SSNs, and RFP responses from kickoff to submission.
- Teaming & Partnering
- Assist in identifying and engaging with potential teaming partners.
- Support NDAs and TA execution and maintain teaming partner communications.
- Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with technical SMEs, project managers, recruiters, and leadership to gather relevant content and resources for proposals and capture.
- Help maintain a repository of reusable content (e.g., past performance, bios, corporate capabilities).
Requirements
- Priority given to candidates based in the Washington DC area
- Enthusiasm for civic tech and mission-driven work
- At least 3 years of GovCon related experience and/or Digital Services work
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong networking abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and proven organizational skills.
- Exceptional proposal writing and review skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-starter, goal-oriented, and results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge and experience in federal government contract acquisition and strategy.
- Knowledge and experience in commercial contract acquisition and strategy.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master's is a plus)
- Certifications: Shipley, APMP, Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP, PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP), PMP, Lean or Agile certification
- Familiarity with FAR
- Proficiency in: CRM software like Monday.com, and market intelligence platforms like GovWin.
Salary Information:
We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $40k to $60k annually. Please note that this range is intended to provide a general idea of what to expect. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
