✨ About Loula
We're building the Headway for birth & postpartum doulas. Loula's platform and provider network supports doulas by simplifying the process of accepting health insurance.
Doulas typically operate outside of the traditional healthcare system and face enormous administrative challenges when accepting health insurance. Loula is revolutionizing the birth and postpartum care industry by making doula care more accessible to the families who may struggle to pay out of pocket.
Loula handles all credentialing, contracting, and revenue cycle management, allowing doulas to focus on doing what they do best -- providing excellent care to families.
💼 The Role
We’re looking for a part-time (20-25 hours/week) Business Development Associate to work closely with Loula’s founder to grow our doula provider network and build referral partnerships with community-based organizations and healthcare providers. You’ll play a critical role in expanding our reach and strengthening our connections with birth workers and local partners who serve pregnant and postpartum families.
🚀 What You’ll Do
- Use a consistent and thoughtful outreach process (via email, phone, and LinkedIn) to connect with independent doulas, doula collectives & training programs, and community partners.
- Educate prospective doulas about Loula’s platform, clearly communicating our value and answering initial questions.
- Qualify leads and schedule intro or follow-up calls with our founder, ensuring smooth handoffs for next steps.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and lead status in our CRM and keep follow-ups consistent and organized.
- Identify promising referral partners — including midwifery practices, perinatal clinics, and community organizations — and initiate conversations about collaboration.
- Surface insights and feedback from outreach efforts to help inform our messaging and growth strategy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our services, target audiences, and referral ecosystem to serve as a trusted and informed point of contact.
