Role Overview
We're seeking a Business Developer with proven experience in traditional sports to drive our expansion beyond esports into major sporting leagues and clubs. You'll leverage your established relationships within football, basketball, rugby, Formula 1, and other mature sports markets to position XBorg as the next-generation fan engagement platform for traditional sports organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for penetrating traditional sports markets (Football, Basketball, Rugby, F1, etc.)
- Leverage existing relationships with clubs, leagues, and sports marketing agencies to secure high-profile partnerships
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure platform features meet the unique needs of traditional sports fans
- Represent XBorg at major sports industry conferences, summits, and club meetings to educate traditional sports stakeholders on digital engagement opportunities
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience working within professional sports organizations, leagues, or sports marketing agencies
- Direct relationships with decision-makers at clubs and leagues in Football, Basketball, Rugby, Formula 1, or other major sports
- Proven track record of closing commercial partnerships, sponsorship deals, or technology implementations with sports organizations
- Deep understanding of sports business models, fan behavior, and the commercial landscape of professional sports
- Experience with digital transformation projects in traditional sports settings
- Ability to translate innovative technology solutions into language that resonates with traditional sports executives
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- International experience and relationships preferred, given global nature of major sports
- Familiarity with fan engagement technologies and web3 is a plus
