Business ArchitectReports to: VP, Business ConsultingLocation: Remote (US)

Role Description

Neocol is seeking a Business Architect to join our Business Consulting Practice. This is a consulting role for a seasoned advisor who leads with business judgment, earns client trust through credibility and empathy, and translates complex business requirements into scalable platform solutions, without writing code.

This is not a developer role and not a product SME role. We are looking for someone who has built a career on asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and guiding clients toward better outcomes, and who is ready to deepen their expertise in Agentforce Revenue Management (ARM) with the support of a structured 3-4 week onboarding ramp.

The right candidate brings meaningful consulting experience on Salesforce or a comparable quote-to-cash platform, along with the platform fluency, stakeholder presence, and delivery discipline needed to lead complex engagements from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead functional discovery sessions and workshops, asking the right questions, surfacing root causes, and building the business case for solution decisions
  • Own the functional design of Salesforce solutions, translating business requirements into scalable configurations that align with platform best practices
  • Produce and maintain high-quality Solution Design Documents (SDDs), user stories, and functional specifications that technical teams can build from without ambiguity
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, leading with outcomes, not features, and holding the line on best practices when needed
  • Guide clients across the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and others) with the ability to connect platform capability to business value
  • Partner with Technical Leads to ensure clean handoffs; the Business Architect owns the “what and why” and the TL owns the “how”
  • Present solution options to business stakeholders in a clear, relatable, non-technical way
  • Support pre-sales and scoping discussions, including effort estimation and solution framing
  • Contribute to internal practice development, templates, playbooks, and delivery standards

Qualification Requirements

  1. 5+ years of consulting experience in a professional services or SI environment, with hands-on delivery across complex business process engagements
  2. Platform experience on Salesforce strongly preferred; equivalent depth on Apttus/Conga CPQ, Zuora, or other major quote-to-cash platforms will be considered where consulting fundamentals are strong
  3. Strong facilitation and discovery skills — you know how to run a room and get to the real requirement, not just the stated one
  4. Excellent communication and executive presence; comfortable engaging VP and C-suite stakeholders
  5. Demonstrated experience producing functional design artifacts: user stories, process flows, SDDs, and acceptance criteria
  6. A consulting mindset — you lead with business outcomes and approach every engagement as a trusted advisor, not a task executor

Preferred Qualifications

  • For Salesforce candidates: demonstrated experience across multiple clouds, with depth in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Revenue Cloud
  • Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, or Revenue Cloud / CPQ (equivalent vendor certifications from other platforms also welcome)
  • Exposure to subscription, SaaS, or recurring revenue business models
  • Agentforce Revenue Management (ARM) experience welcomed but not required — we will train the right person

How You Will Be Measured

  • Quality of discovery and functional design artifacts (SDDs, user stories, process flows) with minimal revision required from senior review
  • Client trust and satisfaction — measured through stakeholder feedback, repeat engagement signals, and delivery health indicators
  • Ability to operate as the primary functional lead on engagements with limited oversight within 90 days
  • Demonstrated “tour guide” consulting posture: leading clients toward better outcomes rather than executing requests as stated
  • Clean handoffs to Technical Leads, with functional specs that can be built from without ambiguity
  • Contribution to internal practice development — templates, playbooks, or process improvements that strengthen the team

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
