  • Partner with Content, Product, and Marketing teams to translate data into clear recommendations for content strategy.

Content Portfolio & Gap Analysis
  • Evaluate the existing content library to identify gaps in genres, themes, reading levels, formats, and curriculum alignment.

  • Provide regular performance reports on new releases, series, authors, and categories.

  • Monitor content lifecycle metrics and flag early signals of success or decline.

Experimentation & Impact Measurement
  • Design and analyze A/B tests and pilots for new content formats, series, or features.

  • Measure the impact of content launches, promotions, bundling, and merchandising strategies.

  • Assess ROI of content investments and licensing decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Content Editors, Curriculum teams, Product, and Data Engineering to define metrics and data needs.

  • Ensure content metadata, tagging, and categorization structures support accurate analysis and discovery.

  • Partner with teams to improve data capture on reading behavior and content attributes.

  • Build data models to predict new account subscription volume.

  • Develop and maintain performance measurement processes (database development, benchmarking, KPI development, systems documentation, reporting/dashboard deployment).

  • Define clear KPIs (e.g., new accounts, retention rates) for vendors and publishers.

  • Analyze channel performance, conversion funnels, CAC/LTV to optimize user acquisition strategies.

Additional Analysis
  • Perform cohort analysis, segmentation, LTV modeling, and churn analysis to assess user quality and acquisition efficiency.

  • Deliver ad hoc analyses (cross-month reconciliations, content ROI, campaign performance) to answer urgent business questions and unblock stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and roadmaps.

  • Prepare and present executive-level reports and presentations, driving alignment and influencing strategic priorities.

Job Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence or growth analytics, preferably in EdTech (K–12/Higher Ed) or B2C environments.

  • Proficiency with Metabase and/or Looker (LookML).

  • Expert SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation; strong Excel/Google Sheets capabilities.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex analyses for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Why Join Us?
  • Make a real impact on teaching and learning outcomes.

  • Work with a mission-driven, collaborative team.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
