At-Bay’s Business Analytics team ensures that our decision-making is grounded in the facts of our business and the markets we operate in. We support our executive team and business leaders across all revenue-generating activities. Using a comprehensive toolset of advanced analytics skills and models, we identify shifts in market and growth performance and translate these insights into actionable decisions for the company.

Role overview:

You will be part of the Business Analytics team, delivering high-quality output and managing analytics projects independently. As a Business Analyst within the broader analytics community, you will collaborate with other leaders across the enterprise to enhance our ability to deliver insights consistently, quickly, and accurately. Additionally, you will establish processes to ensure our portfolio of analytics products remains consistent and clear. In this role you'll support our insurance strategy through data and insights.

How you’ll make an impact: 

By 3 months you will…

  • Understand our insurance business – how our products, services, distribution, technology stack, and partners serve our customers through insurance and security.
  • Establish relationships with colleagues and understand the roles and functions of the broader analytics and business teams
  • Develop autonomy and familiarity in navigating our data stack and analytics to generate essential insights. 
  • You’ll start performing analyses to inform and support strategic decision-making, balancing growth and profitability.

By 6 months you will...

  • You’ll have working relationships with key stakeholders and start collaborating to share insights and identify opportunities to drive material impact on the portfolio
  • Regularly partner with our go-to-market, technology, insurance, security services, and other teams to improve our products and processes
  • Demonstrate your ability to use analytics to generate insights and drive executive conversations on steps we can take to improve business performance
  • Propose data-driven improvements to processes or business practices based on your analysis
  • Establish yourself as a reliable team member, capable of handling core responsibilities independently and contributing valuable insights

What you’ve accomplished already:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
  • Supported an insurance business in an analytical capacity
  • Led multiple analytics projects from requirements definition to final synthesis. Previous insurance experience is required.
  • Engaged all levels of stakeholders (frontline to senior exec) in presenting findings and problem-solving
  • Helped organizations translate ambiguous problem statements into concrete recommendations
  • Experience with using SQL to conduct data manipulation, including cleaning/transforming/creating data 
  • Experience with using Python for various forms of analyses, including building models, running automated processes, data cleaning 
  • Demonstrated the ability to deliver explainable models and analytics products that leverage an analytics tech stack (Snowflake/SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Looker, Excel, etc)

Pay transparency paragraph: Our estimated base pay range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000  per year. Base salary is determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to market data, location, internal equitability, domain knowledge, experiences and skills.
