The Business Analyst II will act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, manage project backlogs, define user stories, and deliver solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform. Responsibilities include leading Scrum events, providing mentorship, and ensuring alignment across technical and business teams.
Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a senior business analyst with advanced expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders and the development team, to understand critical business requirements and project prioritization for Agile delivery execution. As part of the development team, you will plan and produce solutions utilizing Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and custom development that meet the needs of organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the value of the development team by partnering with stakeholders to manage and prioritize the product backlog, define acceptance criteria, and document functional and technical user stories end-to-end
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs to define effective implementation plans
- Collaborate with the development team to produce complex and high value solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse
- Lead and participate in Scrum events (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Steering Committee, Release Retrospective)
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and developers
- Stay ahead of platform updates and emerging technologies to guide strategic adoption
- Utilize best practices for security, performance, lifecycle management, business process automation, and system administration/customization
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years technical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) and Microsoft Power Platform
- 3+ years professional experience defining business requirements for software applications, and technical writing of user stories, acceptance criteria, and development plans
- Agile Scrum SDLC delivery experience and ability to guide the development team and stakeholders through framework adoption
- Ability to discern potential capabilities delivered within the Dynamics platform versus custom development to impact project planning decisions
- Excellent interpersonal communication and stakeholder partnership skills
- Strong understanding of business operations and processes
- Ability to translate information between technical and business teams to ensure clear expectations and establish shared project plan understanding
- Continuous improvement and learning mindset
Preferred Qualifications & Differentiators
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals PL-900, Power Platform Solution Architect PL-600, or similar
- Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or similar
- Higher education industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, information technology, or equivalent experience
- Direct experience utilizing Azure DevOps and Aha for product planning and release management
- Background in business process reengineering, enterprise automation and architecture, solution governance, and security models
- Experience with any of the following: Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, custom connectors, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, relational databases, SQL
